Puppets in Prague Come to Prague to learn the art of creating puppets under the guidance of Czech master puppeteer Mirek Trejtnar.

We offer workshops in English on carving wooden marionettes, designing puppets for stop motion animation, manipulation and performance. For 20 years, over 800 students from around the world have made puppets in our workshops. Learn the craft of carving and designing with Prague's best artisans, and perform at the largest Prague summer theatre festival. We offer workshops on

All workshops are taught by a team of Czech puppet masters - designers, carvers, costume designers, puppeteers, musicians, film animators...

In 2016, UNESCO put Czech puppetry on its world cultural heritage list - the tradition is rich and still very much alive in contemporary Czech theatre.

Fabulous to get together with friends and puppets in New York! Got to see Teddy Yudain performing in Little Shop (and thrilled to see that the plant was designed by another Puppets in Prague alum Nicholas Mahon). Teddy has done many online workshops with us but who I finally got the chance to meet in person, dear friend Anatar M. Gagné who I last saw at Puppets in Prague 2022 workshop and Richard Toth with marionette by Jiraskova from the iconic King Stag production in Prague in the 90s
