When He was two months into ToastMasters membership, he was voluntold to organise the club’s first contest. A strong start for sure for anyone. During the session we will discover how did he overcome all these challenges and also he is proud to say that He won these prizes:

Balázs‘s ToastMasters journey does not revolve solely around contests (and getting podium places 😊). In his journey he got the opportunity to excel as: Division A Director, 2x Area Director, 2x VP Education, 2x VP Membership, District International Speech Contest Chair.

During the workshop you will use Balázs journey’s examples to help you explore the many ways to improve your skills. As most of us start our journey with just seeking improving our public speaking skills, and along the way even if you do not realise, you are learning leadership skills as well. You will explore hurdles and achievements of the journey. By the time we finish the workshop together you will have started on a planner in order continue you journey and not wonder aimlessly in ToastMasters Land (and the outside world).

Lastly, by the end Balázs will shed light on how he nearly became a DTM, and regardless of that why is he still here?

Amani has held various leadership roles, including Secretary for Die Prager Toastmasters, charter member for Bulls and Bears, Vice President of Education, and President for Barclays Prague Toastmasters. 𝗦𝗵𝗲’𝘀 𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗘𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰-𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱. Štěpán has been in Toastmasters for more than a year, and He‘s been elected as VPE for the upcoming term. He‘s a technology enthusiast and makes a living by developing artificial intelligence software, which will one day enable cars to drive themselves. Additionally, he takes care of innovation processes in the company.

Mike Smith is the outgoing Director for Division C - Czech Republic (District 110), and the incoming Club President-Elect for Prague Business Toastmasters. He has been a proud Toastmaster since 2017.

An academic to the core,☝he received his Ph.D. in Political Science and has been teaching for the University of Washington, Seattle since 2003 and has been a Senior Researcher at the Czech Academy of Sciences, in Sociology, since 2006. 𝗛𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆, and especially on the role of gender gaps in educational attainment, social mobility and labor market outcomes. He is also a very passionate trail and ultra distance runner, he loves spending time in the mountains, and regularly competes in running races from the 5k to the 100 mile.😯

His workshop on "Leadership Gender Gaps" is an intersection of his research work on gender gaps in professional occupations, along with his interest in the transformation of leadership styles in those occupations. At issue is not
simply how to promote more women to leadership positions, but the gaps in the ability of people to utilize leadership styles already profoundly transformed by gender.

Therefore, we are excited to announce workshops by Karolína Šulcová. The first main workshop is called "𝘼 𝙎𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙮 𝙬𝙞𝙣𝙨“/“𝗣ří𝗯ě𝗵 𝘃𝘆𝗵𝗿á𝘃á“. In the second workshop Karolína will share her experience with presidency of the toastmaster club with title "𝘽𝙚𝙨𝙩 𝙋𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙚𝙨 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙘𝙡𝙪𝙗 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙧𝙞𝙫𝙚!“

Karolína has experiences with many clubs. She was a member of TMI since October 2013 (Prague Speakers 2013-2016) then moving to Pardubice (2017-present) member and current president of Pardubice Enthusiasts Club and at the same time 2 years member of Queen's Town TM Hradec Králové (2019-2021)

☝Despite her many activities around clubs, she didn't pay much attention to competitions, more in terms of organizing and judging them, but when she did compete, she did well 😎:

She sees Toastmasters as part of her lifestyle, as her solid background. It continues to bring many positive things into her life, both education, improving her speaking and team leadership skills, as well as organizing events, meeting different people, inspiration, support and friendship.

Education is her lifelong hobby. Karolína loves foreign languages especially English, Spanish, Portuguese (She lived in Portugal and Spain) and travelling. In her working life she likes to explore new fields and expand my knowledge. She works as a sales and project manager in an engineering company, now she is on parental leave.

Based on her experience and wins, Karolína will tell you what all a winning speech should have. She will outline different speech techniques you could use to make a speech engaging, impressive and memorable for the audience.
