Společně s otevřením galerie DOX představil Jakub Berdych zcela nový, bezprecedentní a progresivní koncept prodejní galerie pod oficiálním názvem DOX by Qubus. Obchod svou selekcí reflektuje absolutní špičku českého designu a konceptuální tvorby. Už během své krátké existence získal nejvyšší dosažitelné ocenění ve svém oboru. zech Grand Design Awards 2008 titul “Obchod roku”. V roce 2006 získalo stejné ocenění za obchod Qubus v Rámové ulici, který už od roku 2002 poskytuje prostor české tvorbě a designu. V minimalistický prostorách budovy holešovického Centra současného umění DOX od architekta Ivana Kroupy se tak na jednom místě koncentruje práce zásadních designérských ikon českého skla, porcelánu a šperku. Interiér vybavený výstavním mobiliářem podle návrhu studia Qubus zapadá do charakteru celé budovy svou jednoduchostí, díky které se vystavené objekty stávají solitéry strhujícími pozornost. Studio Qubus focuses on design, production, and the realization of conceptual design for interiors and architecture. In 2006, Qubus Studio received award the Distributor of the Year, Czech Grand Design, and the next year, Maxim Velcovsky won the Designer of the Year (Czech Grand Design 2007). This year The Academy of Czech design honored DOX by Qubus with the prize CGD as a Distributor of the year 2008 again. The Qubus Studio was founded in 2002 in Prague, Czech Republic. Jakub Berdych and Maxim Velcovsky decided to establish a multidisciplinary platform for experimenting – in the new context – with traditional Czech materials such as porcelain or glass. During the five years of its existence, Qubus has produced dozens of shapes and designs respected both in the Czech Republic and abroad. The product portfolio of the studio, which in 2004 also branched into interior and graphic design, ranges from exclusive tailor-made creations for private gallery owners to projects for multinationals. The works of the Qubus team draw on the studio’s unique Eastern experience. On a path from Communism to Consumerism, the studio offers original cocktails blending a variety of forms in new contexts, whether created by traditional techniques or latest technologies.
