Happy Independence Day, Moldova! 🇲🇩

Today, Moldova celebrates 35 years of independence.

For , Moldova is more than a country on our sourcing map. It is home to our trusted partners, dedicated farmers and fields where some of the crops we work with begin their journey.

Our colleagues recently visited Moldova to conduct an on-site audit, meet our partners and see the fields firsthand. From Moldova, we source sunflower seeds and flaxseed naturally rich in omega-3.

Regular field visits and audits help us verify quality and traceability, ensure compliance with our requirements and, most importantly, maintain close relationships with the people behind every harvest.

On this special day, we congratulate our Moldovan partners, farmers and colleagues. We wish the country continued growth, prosperity and many successful harvests.

Organic is growing - but are we communicating it well enough? 🌱

One of the key takeaways from the at OEYD 2026 was clear: producing high-quality organic food is only part of the challenge. We also need to communicate its value in a way that people understand and trust.

And the numbers make this conversation even more interesting.

🌿 Consumers across Europe spend around €1,860 every second on organic food.

🇨🇿 In Czechia, the organic food market reached CZK 8.51 billion in 2024, growing by 14.8% in just one year.

Yet organic still represents only 1.87% of total food and beverage consumption in Czechia.

So the potential is clearly there.

During WOW Organic day at OEYD 2026, young professionals from across the organic value chain discussed how transparency, storytelling and listening to consumers can help close this gap.

Perhaps the future of organic is not only about producing more.

It is also about explaining better why organic matters.

And that is exactly the kind of conversation the next generation should be part of. 🌱

Organic people + fresh ideas + Germany in July = a pretty good combination 🌱

This summer, was proud to support and co-organise the 3rd Organics European Youth Days, bringing together around 85 young professionals from across Europe for two packed days in Germany.

Day one? The Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) - a topic with a huge impact on the future of European farming.
Day two? The project - more ideas, more discussion and a lot of fresh perspectives on where organic is heading next.

Harvesting has started earlier than usual across Kazakhstan, following an exceptionally hot summer that accelerated crop maturity.

As of mid-August:

🌾 1.9 million hectares of grain crops have already been harvested - almost twice the area harvested at the same point last year.
🌾 Average grain yield currently stands at 1.64 t/ha, compared with 1.48 t/ha a year earlier.
🌻 The oilseed harvest is only beginning, but the first results are encouraging: average yields are currently around 1.05 t/ha, versus 0.74 t/ha at the same time last season.

And the oilseed sector itself continues to expand. In 2026, Kazakhstan’s oilseed area reached a record 5.2 million hectares, with Northern Kazakhstan remaining one of the country's key production regions.

For us, flax is particularly interesting.

Kazakhstan harvested around 1.4 million tonnes of flaxseed in 2025, while exports have reached unprecedented levels. Between September 2025 and June 2026 alone, the country exported 1.16 million tonnes of flaxseed - 2.4 times more than during the same period a year earlier.

The new flax crop is still developing in Kazakhstan’s northern regions, so the most important part of the season is yet to come.

Starting next week, our team will begin field audits in Kazakhstan, visiting our partner farms and assessing the new season directly on the ground.

A promising season is taking shape.

A few days ago, we visited the fields of one of our organic farming partners to see how this year’s pumpkin crop is progressing.

And there is already plenty to see.

The plants now cover almost the entire field, while the pumpkins underneath the leaves have reached a good size and continue to mature. But for us, the most valuable part is developing inside - the seeds.

Pumpkins grown for seed are quite different from the pumpkins we usually think of as food. The main goal of the harvest is not the flesh, but the seeds hidden inside each fruit. Once fully mature, they will be harvested, separated, cleaned and prepared for further processing.

And some of them may eventually become something very familiar to us.

Last year, AGRIWELL introduced its first limited edition of organic pumpkin seed oil under our own brand - taking the journey of this crop one step further, from the field all the way to the bottle.

For now, though, the story is still happening right here - under these green leaves 🌱

Poppy harvest season is here in Czechia!

The 2026 poppy harvest is now well underway, with some farms already bringing in the new crop.

According to the latest estimates, Czech farmers are expected to harvest around 28,000 tonnes of poppy seeds this season. That is approximately 5% less than in 2025, mainly due to dry weather conditions, but still around 10% above the five-year average.

Czechia remains one of Europe’s key poppy-growing countries, with a strong tradition of cultivating this unique crop for the food industry.
