WHO ARE THE DRAMA QUEENS?
We started back in 2007, when dinosaurs still roamed the Earth and The Drama Queens were just a bunch of friends with a passion for performing in English and an eagerness to learn.
Nearly two decades later, we’ve filled thousands of seats, welcomed more than 100 actors into our productions, performed on some of Prague’s most remarkable stages, and built a space we can proudly call home — a place to create, experiment, and learn.
Our theater is physical, visual, emotional, and unapologetically ambitious. We work in the tradition of laboratory theater, exploring stories through movement, images, music, and ensemble work.
We never do anything halfway. Every year, our director Martin promises a minimalist set. Every year, we somehow end up building another megalomaniac structure involving moving panels, platforms, and enough wood to make us question our life choices.
But what truly defines The Drama Queens isn’t the stage design or theatrical style.
It’s the people and their dedication.
We disagree sometimes. We tease each other relentlessly. We drive each other (but mostly Martin) crazy. But whatever we do, whoever we are, we stick together.
