🏆We are thrilled to announce that the winner of the Prague Fringe Excellence Award 2026 is Antonio Anzilotti di Nitto for Roots – Radici. Antonio Anzilotti De Nitto
The Excellence Award is a Directors’ Award presented in recognition of an outstanding achievement, performance, or contribution to Prague Fringe. This year, Festival Director Steve Gove recognised a remarkable artistic journey that began at Catania Fringe and culminated in a performance that captivated audiences throughout the festival.

As Steve said:
“Two years ago I was blown away by Antonio’s performance (in Italian) at Catania Fringe and awarded him the Prague Fringe Catania Award that year, with one condition - that he perform it in English. Antonio nervously accepted - his English was basic but he wanted to take on the challenge. I was once again blown away by your performance this year Antonio it was beautiful. Sensitively translated (Valentina Stringhetti) and flawlessly performed, so much so that it blew everyone away - jaws dropped when you thanked the audiences and they realised that you are not fluent in English.
I wish you great success with this show on the international stage - it is deserved.”

Congratulations to Antonio and translator Valentina Stringhetti on this well-deserved recognition. 💛

We’re delighted to share some very special news! 🤩

Our Founder and Director Steve Gove, has been awarded an MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) by His Majesty King Charles III for his extraordinary services to UK/Czech Republic cultural relations.
The MBE is one of the United Kingdom’s most prestigious honours, recognising outstanding contributions to public life, culture, education, charitable work and international relations. The award was announced as part of this year’s King’s Birthday Honours, and Steve will formally receive it at an investiture ceremony in London later this year.

Reflecting on the honour, Steve said:
“I am humbled and deeply honoured to have received this award. Prague Fringe started as just an idea while at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe back in the year 2000. To have got it off the ground and establish it in a city and a country that I love so much has been such an incredible joy for me. Here’s to the next 25 years.”

Congratulations, Steve. Thank you for your vision, dedication, and for creating something that has brought so much joy to so many people and connected us all through the power of the arts. ❤️
