土耳其伊斯坦堡知名觀光景點「獨立大街」(İstiklâl Caddesi)昨日發生爆炸事件， 外交部亞非司長賀忠義大使於第一時間代表外交部長吳釗燮向土耳其駐台代表貝定可(Muhammed Berdibek)表達我方誠摯慰問，對不幸亡者哀悼，也盼傷者早日康復。
根據我國駐土耳其代表處訊息，截至目前為止尚無國人及僑胞傷亡，駐處也將會持續掌握情形。

MOFA would like to express our condolences to the families of those killed in the explosion on İstiklâl Caddesi in Istanbul yesterday and wish a speedy recovery to those injured.
The head of the MOFA’s Department of West Asian and African Affairs Ambassador Anthony Ho reached out to the Turkish Representative to Taipei Muhammed Berdibek at the first opportunity to express condolences on behalf of the government and the people of Taiwan.

Experiencing Taiwanese style of western stakes !

台灣牛排登上雙橡園餐桌

有時候，最具有台灣特色的事物，就在我們最熟悉的地方。

蕭美琴大使昨天在雙橡園接待到華府的立陶宛國會外交委員會主席Žygimantas Pavilionisㄧ行人。端上餐桌的，就有夜市的牛排、珍珠奶茶和剉冰，立陶宛的貴賓們都非常享受。

蕭大使特別感謝立陶宛政府與人民慷慨捐贈疫苗，雙方也分享台灣與立陶宛各自在歷史上面對強權霸凌打壓、如何爭取自由的經驗。

Lots of people in Taiwan enjoy their steak with a bit of pasta, some carrots, sweetcorn, peas and a sunny-side-up egg. This Taiwanese night-market-style steak was recently served up at the Twin Oaks dining table, when Ambassador 蕭美琴 Bi-khim Hsiao met Chair of the Lithuanian Seimas’ Foreign Affairs Committee Žygimantas Pavilionis in . We were unable to confirm if he took his steak with mushroom or black pepper sauce, but he washed it down with some delicious .

Ambassador Hsiao took the opportunity to thank the people and the government of for their generosity in donating vaccines to and they shared their common experience of confronting authoritarian bullies throughout history and the struggle for freedom.
