This is my Gold winning piece from MPO. When I say I was surprised that it won, I genuinely mean it - the end was rushed and literally five minutes before leaving for my flight, I was applying filters.
I am still super happy with this piece. Not because it is perfect (far from it, I would actually prefer to hide some spots 🫠), but because it was a cozy winding down project where I could relax. It was painted in around 35 days to relax after Adepticon.
Painted mostly on stream. Unfocused, talking about sentient dil*os (you had to be there) and all kinds of other stuff, I wasn't in my peak peformance mindset...but that made me enjoy it so much more.
Still, the piece is a nice canvas to try some stuff from my private sessions with .lazaro and .
-the skin features huge color varience (red, yellow, orange, green, blue and purple present)
-tried hard stippling for the floofs on the bees
-left some parts more brushstroky...yet it doesnt look unfinished
-used extra thicccc paint on some spots to make the saturation pop (especially yellow)
At this point you shouldnt be surprised it is a model from Kingdom Death. The name is Phantom Weaver.
