Michaela Katráková, an opera singer born in Prague, is a specialist in lyric-dramatic soprano. The colour and strength of her voice predestines her for a wide variety of roles. She was educated at the Prague Conservatory, where she made her debut at the Prague State Opera in the role of Lucia in Lucia di Lammermoor. One of her first theatre engagements was the role of Pamina in Mozart's The Magic Flute. She has continued to study Mozart professionally and her repertoire includes arias from Don Giovanni, The Marriage of Figaro and the famous Requiem in D minor. During her career she has performed other important roles such as Violetta in La traviata, Nedda in Les Comediennes and Rusalka. She also performed alongside tenor Ramón Vargas and participated in important gala concerts. She is currently active in the North Bohemian Theatre and is also involved in concert activities and the chanson project VOIX DE PARIS.
