◖LUSTR festival hledá stážisty! ◗

Pokud je vám činnost festivalu sympatická a zároveň chcete získat praxi v oboru kulturní produkce, dramaturgie, administrativy či organizaci kulturních eventů, tak to zkuste s námi!

Jsme malý tým, který spolupracuje s oborovými specialisty v mnoha odvětvích. Hledáme stážisty na krátkodobou i dlouhodobou stáž, ideálně jako součást jejich praxe v rámci programu Erasmus.

Práce na festivalu LUSTR je rozmanitá a rádi vám vyjdeme vstříc s tím, jakou agendu byste řešili konkrétně vy, tak, aby to nebylo nad vaše síly a zároveň jste měli možnost se přiučit něčemu novému.

Hledáme především někoho na výpomoc se správou sociálních sítí, PR, projektovou administrativu, správu a produkci.

◖LUSTR Festival Is Looking for Interns! ◗

If you feel connected to what our festival does and would like to gain experience in cultural production, dramaturgy, administration, or the organization of cultural events, give it a try with us!

We are a small team that collaborates with industry specialists across many fields. We are looking for interns for both short-term and long-term placements, ideally as part of their internship through the Erasmus programme.

Working at LUSTR Festival is diverse, and we are happy to accommodate the type of agenda and responsibilities you would like to focus on, so that it is manageable for you while also giving you the opportunity to learn something new.

We are mainly looking for support with social media management, PR, project administration, management, and production.

Výstava Na jedné lodi se chýlí ke svému konci – vydejte se s námi na poslední společnou plavbu i s jejími tvůrci!

V neděli 26. dubna otevře Labyrint naposledy všem, kdo chtějí ještě jednou vstoupit na palubu, potkat vystavující ilustrátory a zažít výstavu jinak – tvořivě, hravě a naživo.

Vstup na dernisáž proběhne ve třech samostatných časových blocích, aby měl každý dostatek času i prostoru si závěrečný den výstavy opravdu užít:
1. 10:00–13:00
2. 13:00–15:00
3. 15:00–17:00

Součástí programu budou také neplacené průchozí workshopy i placené workshopy s omezenou kapacitou a nutností zakoupení vstupenky.

LUSTR On Tour x Bologna

We are extremely delighted to have the opportunity to exhibit eight illustrators during the Bologna Children’s Book Fair, whose work boldly explores themes of womanhood and femininity in the 21st century.

Exhibition titled Mamma Mia? refers to uncertainty through its question mark, aiming to challenge common stereotypes, societal expectations placed on women, and established norms. Through the eyes of both cis and trans female illustrators, the exhibition reflects on ideas of femininity today — rather than offering clear answers, it opens up a range of perspectives and further questions.

The exhibition presents diverse approaches, from classic book illustration and comic sequences to art zines, textiles, and objects. It shows that contemporary Czech illustration transcends the boundaries of the printed page and enters physical space.

The very last jury member we would like to introduce for the Open Call in the Comics and Author Collectives categories is Branko Jelinek!
⟡
Branko is a versatile comics author best known for his graphic novels about Oskar Ed. For his original book series Oskar Ed, he received two Muriel Awards in 2016 — for Best Script and Best Original Book, and three this year in February!
⟡
He is drawn to works that leave viewers and readers ample space for their own interpretation. Among his favourite creators are David Lynch, Charles Burns, Daniel Clowes, and Chris Ware.

Úplně posledním porotcem Open callu do kategorie komiks a autorské kolektivy, kterého vám představíme, je Branko Jelinek!

Branko je všestranný komiksový tvůrce známý díky grafickým novelám o Oskaru Edovi. Za autorské knihy ze série Oskar Ed získal v roce 2016 hned dvě ceny Muriel: za nejlepší scénář a za nejlepší původní knihu, a letos dokonce ceny tři, za nejlepší kresbu, scénář i komiksovou knihu.

Má rád díla, která nechávají divákům a čtenářům široký prostor pro vlastní interpretaci. Mezi jeho oblíbené tvůrce patří David Lynch, Charles Burns, Daniel Clowes nebo Chris Ware. Letošního LUSTRu se zúčastní jako porotce komiksové sekce.

Another jury member of the Showcase Open Call in the Comics and Author Collectives categories is Kateřina Čopjaková.

Kateřina is a literary and comics critic who publishes in the weekly Respekt, Heroine, and on Seznam Zprávy. She has also served as a jury member for the Muriel Awards. She is particularly fond of dark and unsettling comics of American, European, and Japanese provenance.

Kateřina je literární a komiksová kritička publikující v týdeníku Respekt, Heroine a na Seznam Zprávy. Jako porotkyně se mimo jiné podílela na udílení cen Muriel. Má ráda temné a zneklidňující komiksy americké, evropské i japonské provenience

One of the most internationally visible Czech comics artists, whose work is available in, among other countries, the United Kingdom, the USA, Australia, France, and Switzerland, will be part of the Showcase Open Call for the Comics and Author collectives jury for the first time this year.

In 2025, his graphic novel Dalai Lama – The Long Journey was published and, in addition to Tibetan, has been translated into most major world languages. In 2023, his comics documentary Chernobyl – The Fall of Atomgrad was nominated for the Muriel Award in the Drawing category. A year later, the British newspaper The Guardian included Chernobyl among the best new graphic novels of the year.

Alongside his artistic practice, he occasionally teaches storytelling and comics anatomy.

Jeden z nejviditelnějších českých komiksových autorů v zahraničí, jehož práce je k dostání mimo jiné ve Velké Británii, USA, Austrálii, Francii, a Švýcarsku, bude letos poprvé v porotcovském křesle výstavy Showcase, kategorie komiksy a autorské kolektivy.

V roce 2025 vyšel jeho komiks Dalajláma - Dlouhá pouť, který byl kromě Tibetštiny přeložen i do většiny světových jazyků. V roce 2023 byl jeho komiksový dokument Černobyl – pád Atomgradu nominován na cenu Muriel v kategorii kresba. O rok později britský The Guardian zařadil komiks Černobyl mezi ty nejlepší komiksové novinky roku.

Vedle vlastní umělecké praxe se příležitostně věnuje výuce storytellingu a anatomie komiksu.

The first jury member we would like to introduce for this year’s Showcase Open Call in the Comics and Author Collectives categories is Michal Šumichrast.
⟡
Michal Šumichrast is a graduate of the Studio of Free Printmaking at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava. During his studies, he also completed a several-month residency at Tokyo University of the Arts. He currently continues as a PhD candidate and lecturer.

His work often takes the form of a deliberate critique of capitalism, approached with a highly distinctive sarcastic humour. He frequently references pop culture and various subcultures in his practice. Between 2020 and 2024, he regularly contributed comic strips about the adventures of a masked cat — dressed in a balaclava and fighting fascism, the establishment, and social inequality — to the Slovak engaged monthly magazine Kapitál.

Visitors may remember his uncompromisingly sharp airbrush drawings from last year’s edition, where he exhibited as part of the Slovak Salon.

Prvním porotcem letošního open callu výstavy Showcase v kategorii Komiks a Autorské kolektivy, kterého vám představíme, je Michal Šumichrast.

Michal Šumichrast je absolventem ateliéru Volné grafiky na bratislavské VŠVU, ale v rámci studií absolvoval několikaměsíční pobyt v Tokiu na University of Arts in Tokyo. Momentálně na VŠVU působí i jako doktorand a pedagog.

Jeho tvorba je často cílenou kritikou kapitalismu, kterou ale pojímá s velmi specifickým sarkastickým humorem, často v tvorbě odkazuje k popkultuře či různým subkulturám. Pravidelně svými komiksovými stripy o dobrodružstvích maskované kočky, která v baclavě bojuje proti fašismu, establishmentu a sociální nerovnosti, přispíval do slovenského angažovaného měsíčníku Kapitál v létech 2020-2024.

Diváci si jeho airbrushové nesmlouvavě rýpavé kresby možná pamatují z minulého ročníku, vystavoval totiž v rámci Slovenského salónku.

Linda Retterová is the last jury member of the Open Call in the Free Illustration category!
⟡
Linda studied Animation at UMPRUM. During her studies, she completed internships focused on textiles in Prague and Paris, as well as at the risograph studio Colorama in Berlin. After graduating, she founded her own textile brand ROE, under which she creates original patterns and works with hand-printed fabrics. She enjoys working with collage, spontaneity, and vibrant colours.

At LUSTR Festival 2025, she presented monumental collage-based textile prints in an exhibition showcasing the works of the Broumov symposium graduates.

Jako poslední porotkyně Open callu v kategorii Volná ilustrace vystoupí Linda Retterová!

Linda vystudovala animovaný film na UMPRUM. Během studií si vyzkoušela stáž na textilu v Praze i v Paříži a také v risografickém studiu Colorama v Berlíně. Po skončení studií založila vlastní textilní značku ROE, pod kterou se věnuje autorským vzorům a ručnímu potisku látek. Ráda pracuje s koláží, spontánností a pestrými barvami.

Na festivalu LUSTR 2025 ukázala divákům velkolepé kolážovité tisky na textil ve výstavě prezentující práce absolventů sympozia Broumov.

Another member of the jury we are pleased to introduce is Tomáš Luňák.
⟡
Tomáš studied animation at the Film School in Zlín and later at FAMU in Prague. In 2011, he achieved major success with his first feature-length animated film Alois Nebel. This adaptation of the comic trilogy of the same name by Jaroslav Rudiš and Jaromír 99 received exceptional acclaim both in the Czech Republic and internationally, and won the European Film Award for Best Animated Feature.

In addition to his film work, he has directed several music videos for Czech musicians, serves as a juror for the Czech Grand Design Awards, and is currently a member of the Council for the Support of Animation and Video Games at the Czech Audiovisual Fund.

For the Open Call of the Showcase 2026 exhibition, he has taken on the role of juror in the Free Illustration category.

Dalším z porotců, kterého si představíme, je Tomáš Luňák.

Tomáš vystudoval animovaný film na filmové škole ve Zlíně a následně na pražské FAMU. V roce 2011 sklidil úspěch se svým prvním celovečerním animovaným snímkem Alois Nebel. Tato adaptace na stejnojmenou komiksovou trilogii Jaroslava Rudiše a Jaromíra 99 zaznamenala mimořádný úspěch jak v České republice, tak v zahraničí, a získala cenu Evropské filmové akademie za nejlepší animovaný film.

Kromě jiného také režíroval několik videoklipů českých hudebníků a je jedním z porotců cen Czech Grand Design a v současné době působí jako člen Rady pro podporu animace a videoher u Státního fondu audiovize.

Už třetím rokem bude LUSTR součástí ! V roce 2025 je mottem festivalové přehlídky v Taipei “Ve svém dalším životě si přeji být kočkou”. Inspirace tímto tvorem pramení především z jeho schopnosti zastavit se v každodenním shonu, užívat si přítomného okamžiku a nalézat vnitřní klid.

TIF Taiwan se bude konat od 5. do 7. prosince v Songshan Cultural and Creative Park-North Factory.

Za podporu vděčíme Ministerstvu Kultury ČR, Českému literárnímu centru a Českým centrům.

Alžběta Zemanová, Dana Lédl, Jakub Bachorík, Jakub Plachý, Julie Černá, Klára Zahrádková, and Marita Kelbl.

TIF Taiwan will take place from 5–7 December at Songshan Cultural and Creative Park – North Factory.
