Dafa Puppet Theatre

Dafa, which translates to "warmth" in Arabic, commenced its journey in 2009 with the aim of engaging communities in Jordan. By 2015, two graduates of prestigious Academy of Performing Arts (DAMU)/Czech Republic, collaborated to establish Dafa Theater in Prague, with a dedicated focus on advancing puppetry, theater for educational purposes, and social awareness. Dafa offers specialized training for

educators and social workers worldwide, facilitating education and producing a variety of performances and puppet films. Actively participating in international festivals. Since 2015, Dafa has collaborated with more than 500 people of 45 nationalities in creating 21 original productions, giving more than 300 performances, and organizing more than 200 classes and workshops, 1 art residency, 1 theater for youth, 4 festivals. Dafa has made videos, facilitated artistic residencies, theater labs, panel discussions and festivals. Dafa combines age-old puppetry and storytelling techniques with cutting-edge technology to create new productions that move the audiences. Our journey began with a shared passion for puppetry and a vision to redefine the possibilities of this timeless art form. Over the years, we have honed our craft, pushing the boundaries of creativity and puppetry to create thought-provoking productions that captivate the senses and touch the soul. Dafa aims to elevate the art form of puppetry to new heights, garnering acclaim both locally and internationally to inspire audiences everywhere. Dafa conducts The Inclusive Theatre workshops and coordinates the Ya Khayal Theatre Lab in Amman, Jordan, as well as the LIV'in festival in Prague, fostering cultural exchange initiatives. As a specialist in puppetry and physical theatre, Dafa is recognized for its impactful engagement with marginalized communities, contributing to social cohesion both in Jordan and beyond. Through captivating performances and educational workshops, Dafa not only preserves traditional storytelling but also addresses contemporary social challenges. Its reach extends globally, touching diverse age groups and earning widespread acclaim for promoting cross-cultural understanding.
