PFA2026 | Immanuel Esser

Immanuel Esser studied aesthetics and political philosophy in Berlin before attending the Academy of Media Arts Cologne. His films have been screened and awarded at various international festivals, including Sundance, Locarno, Sitges, and Ann Arbor. He is a member of the Swiss Film Academy and the Junges Kolleg of the North Rhine-Westphalian Academy of Sciences and Arts.

PFA2026 | Andreas Arnstedt

Andreas Arnstedt is a director, author, and actor with a diverse portfolio in film and theater. His debut film, “Die Entbehrlichen,” earned him several prestigious awards, including the Max Ophüls Verleih Förderpreis and Best Direction at the Mostra São Paulo. Notable works include “Der Kuckuck und der Esel,” “Short Term Memory Loss,”and the documentary “Schattenkind.” He continues to explore innovative storytelling through various projects, including the current pilot film “Die Coach*Innen.”

PFA2026 | John Mark Fitzpatrick

John Mark Fitzpatrick is an award-winning Irish writer and director. He has been nominated for a BAFTA and a BIFA. His work focuses on characters who are searching for magic in everyday. Bringing the audience on a journey with the central character, seeing the world through their eyes and finding revelation in their struggles.

PFA2026 | Jason Wingard

Jason Wingard is a director of mixed race heritage based in Manchester. His dramatic feature ‘In Another Life’ won Best UK Feature at the Raindance Film Festival 2017 and the prestigious Discovery Award at the British Independent Film Awards in the same year. He later released the northern off-beat
comedy, ‘Eaten By Lions’, which was critically acclaimed, while his short film ‘Pavement’, which talks about homelessness, was accepted as one of twenty films from visionary filmmakers. Jason is also working on TV for various productions and is the co-writer of the feature film 'Ambleside.'

>> Terry Gilbertson has been a security guard for over 21 years in Kings Cross, London. He is now heading up the Task 7 - Maximum Security program and rolling it out across the UK. Graham once again catches up with Terry, this time he is at a university in East Anglia, making sure that health and safety protocols are being followed and that everyone is following a code of maximum security!

"Camille (25), an anthropology student, has trouble recovering from her recent breakup and is abusing anxiolytics. One evening, as she is at the verge of breaking down, she goes to her best friend, a neuroscientist, for help. Touched by her distress, the friends finally agree to try on Camille the experiment she is working on: a revolutionary device to treat anxiety."

“How can you think if you cannot speak?” Four kids, age 5 to 15, share their thoughts on aphasia and show us how they communicate and interact with someone who has difficulties expressing themselves verbally.

Mona Lisa • Jan Daniel • 20' • Czech Republic • 2024 • Student Film Competition

Beata lives a happy life with Jura. They create imitations of well-known paintings together - he takes pictures of her, she poses for him. They love each other. They catch happy moments of their lives in photos that they carry as unchanging memories. Their lives take an unexpected turn, photos fade and memories slowly begin to change. Beata is afraid that when she closes and opens her eyes, she will discover that she has lived in vain.
