Thanks to the folks who visited us in exile on the thirst floor at the Brno Expat Fair yesterday and bought up the last tickets to opening night. Missed out? Don't despair! We still have tickets for Sunday May 24 and Saturday May 30 (including a matinee option, for those of you who favor laughing in a cool dark room in the afternoon). In 1977 in Czechoslovakia, it was never really clear when the secret police (Státní bezpečnost, or StB) were listening or watching. This photo (from "Prague Through the Lens of the Secret Police") is an example. Some characters in our play are under surveillance -- get tickets, and you can watch their story, too (with their consent and knowledge!)

A professional foul in sports is when a player deliberately breaks a rule in order to benefit their team. Professional fouls are usually committed to prevent an opponent from scoring. Tom Stoppard extended the concept to academia and politics -- there are at least six "professional fouls" committed in this play (we counted!) Want to see if you can find more? Get your tickets ... or risk a red card!
