A closer look at the ORIGO burner. 🔥🎈

As Scott Gneiting explains, this is not just a standard liquid burner placed into a smaller system. The ORIGO burner was re-engineered specifically for this concept — simple, lightweight and designed to make ORIGO a more accessible entry point into ballooning.

At only 7 kg, it is part of what makes ORIGO well suited for new pilots, flight schools and building flight hours.

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Vratislav Hlavatý, a key figure in the history of Czech ballooning.

Vratislav was there at the very beginning. On June 5, 1983, during the public premiere of the first Czechoslovak-made hot air balloon at Brno-Medlánky airport, he was the pilot who took over the flight.

For Kubicek Balloons, his story is closely tied to our own.

He helped train Aleš Kubíček and many other pilots, passing on the knowledge and experience that allowed the local ballooning community to grow. In a very real way, Kubicek Balloons owes him a great deal.

He later became the owner of the first official balloon produced by Kubicek Balloons, Reflex BB12O s/n 1, making him part of our story from the very beginning.

We are grateful for everything he gave to the ballooning community.
Our sincere condolences go to his family, friends, students and all who knew him.

This remarkable achievement qualifies her to compete at the 2027 FAI Women’s World Hot Air Balloon Championship in Saudi Arabia, where she will face many of the world’s top female balloon pilots. 🌍

We are especially proud that Amy earned this prestigious title flying a Kubicek BB16XR — designed for precision, performance, and reliability.

Championships are ultimately won through the talent, preparation, and determination of exceptional pilots, and we are honored that Amy chose to place her trust in a Kubicek balloon.

Amy’s success reflects the significant time and effort she has devoted to becoming an exceptional pilot. She flies year-round in commercial balloon operations and provides flight instruction, totaling hundreds of hours each year. 🎈

Thanks to your feedback, FlyMate now supports:

🇪🇸 Spanish
🇨🇿 Czech
🇩🇪 German
🇫🇷 French
🇳🇱 Dutch (coming soon to iOS)

Changing the language is easy: just go to Menu → Settings and you’ll find it right at the top.

We’re always happy to hear what would make FlyMate more useful for you.
