On April 3rd, Mgr. Marta Filipová, PhD, delivered a lecture at the Slovak National Gallery, where she presented her current research on folk cultures in emigration. Her talk focused on the Czechoslovak Art Studio, a network of shops that offered a variety of folk art. This studio was founded and operated during the interwar period by Slovak women who had emigrated to the United States.

The lecture was the final original program accompanying the semi-permanent exhibition "(In)visible? Women of the Modern," curated by Katarína Bajcurová and Valéria Kršiaková, which opened last summer.
