Thank you to Brno Daily for sharing the new about our performances 💖

Not long left until you can see us on stage again!

BEST Divadlo have been performing English-speaking theatre in Brno for eight years, and they’re back again with their new production of George Bernard Shaw’s Pygmalion. The tale follows Eliza Doolittle, a common flower girl who dreams of opening her own flower shop. She meets Henry Higgins, a professor of phonology who takes a great interest in the many unique sounds of accents of the English language. Higgins makes a bet with an associate he can transform Eliza into the epitome of class and pass her off as a Duchess at a royal ball. Audiences follow the ups and downs of Eliza’s journey to becoming a real lady, where her strange ways cause great amusement to those in the upper class.

Performances are on 17, 24, 25 and 27 October at Lumos, Křížová 20.

The ingenious Jesse Mattek will be performing as Freddy Eynsford-Hill.

Freddy seems like a simple, love struck gentleman at first glance. But his complex family dynamic and tendency to be pushed aside makes for an interesting character with a lot more to offer than meets the eye.

Jesse is a BEST Divadlo alumni having appeared in The 39 Steps earlier this year. Not only are they a talented actor, but they're also an amazing artist. The poster for our show is a testament to that!
