Skleněné sochařské objekty Philipa Franka se vyznačují obrovskou řemeslnou zručností – autor ve svých dílech kombinuje různorodé techniky a zdánlivě nesourodé materiály, a rozšiřuje tak možnosti práce se sklem a přidruženými hmotami. Dlouhodobě se ve své autorské tvorbě Frank, který zároveň působí jako mistr laserové dílny na UMPRUM, zaměřuje na znejišťování hranice mezi funkčností designu a estetickou hodnotou volného umění. Jeho díla pracují s vizualitou inspirovanou jak amorfními přírodními tvary, tak strohými technicistními úhly a futuristickými vizemi, ne nepodobnými výtvorům H. R. Gigera. V Galerii Kuzebauch odkrývá Frank skrze kresby uhlem a černým pastelem i méně viditelnou stránku své tvorby.

The glass sculptures of Philip Frank are notable for their considerable craftsmanship. In his works, Frank combines a variety of techniques as well as seemingly disparate materials, continually expanding the horizons of glass art in all of its many forms. Frank, who is also the long-serving head of the Prague UMPRUM art school’s laser workshop, focuses on blurring the lines between the functionality of design and the aesthetic values inherent in the fine arts. His works offer a visual sensibility inspired by both amorphous natural forms and also harsh technical angles and futuristic visions evocative of famous designer H. R. Giger. Through his charcoal and black pastel drawings, Frank reveals a less visible side of his work at the Kuzebauch Gallery.
