devastating ...

We woke today with such a heavy heart and feeling of dread that only intensified as we caught up on the news of the fires that have been raging across our island.

There are no words that can do justice for what's been lost, kilometers of forest, villages that may never be rebuilt, homes that have been destroyed, and of course loss of life. Words can't fix this, we need action. We urge all of our friends and supporters to do what they can, be it large or small, volunteer, donate, collect food or clothing, offer shelter. We need community at times like this.

Our island is suffering an immersurable loss today, to our ecosystem and on a humanitarian level. Let's be strong, let's be united with our fellow islanders, and let's all do what little (or big) we can to help get through this.

This beautiful island is our home, and we only get one of it. 🖤

The climate crisis has been going on for years, even though many of us have only heard about it or understood what it actually is in the recent years. We have been told that to help combat climate change, we need to avoid getting on a plane, avoid driving, shop consciously and last but not least, reduce meat consumption.
No matter the amount of times people read about it, the amount of strikes and actions happening around the world, or the amount of documentaries people watch, no significant change had happened until now. Suddenly, we are forced to stay home, avoid traveling and shop less. And going back to our first point, this is curing the earth, if we may say. Emissions have significantly dropped, the air is much less polluted, and wildlife is returning to land and sea.
The reason why we are witnessing this significant change in the environment is the self-isolation of humans and the pause in business-as-usual and the daily routines of each person. We are, by accident, following the guidelines of environmentalists and climate experts, and we’re proving them more right than ever. Therefore, we are asking everyone to take this in and comprehend it, and continue avoiding all these actions in the future too.
Take this example and listen to the science. We need to continue being conscious about what we’re buying, what our money is contributing to, what resources are required for each product, the impact of traveling and driving, and so on.
Stay home. Stay creative. Stay sustainable. Stay tuned!
