In 1985 the business moved to 21 Kimonos Street changing its name to “Opus 39 Gallery”. The gallery has exhibited nearly all the well-known Cypriot artists, such as, Telemachos Kanthos, Christoforos Savva, Adamantios Diamantis, Lefteris Economou, Ioannis Kissonergis and Stelios Votsis, which were the forefathers of modern art in Cyprus. The gallery aims to promote quality art through its exhibitions - ceramics, painting, jewelry, sculpture, installations and photography. It has in the past hosted names such as Picasso and Braque and Valentinos Charalambous - a Cypriot ceramist, student of Bernard Leach and holder of a Life Achievement Award from Cambridge University, UK. Amongst some of the exhibitions held, were a group exhibition of engravings by Miro, Dali, Matisse, Dupont, Matta and Max Ernst - which was very successful, as well as a group exhibition of paintings by the finest greek artists of the 20th century, whose works can be seen in the National Gallery of Athens, Greece, such as Lytras, Gyzis, Parthenis, Tsarouchis, Theofilos, Moralis, Fassianos and many others. The gallery does not specialize in any specific style or movement, thus providing the viewer with the opportunity to appreciate different approaches to art. Some of the artists exhibited are very young and not as yet introduced to the public, as the gallery feels “obliged” to help/encourage these newcomers. It believes “selling” is not its sole purpose, “educating” and bringing new ideas to the table is just as important. "Art is not what you see, but what you make others see."
