After:noon / project hosts Non-Linear Existence, an exhibition by Andreas Kountoureshis at Hybrid Space, running from February 13 to March 8. Exploring perception, abstraction, and the structure of reality, the exhibition brings together converging forms and shifting viewpoints, inviting viewers into a contemplative journey beyond linear experience.

Non-Linear Existence
As the partition wall draws near, a physical substance of line, shape, and form may appear - a vanishing point in reverse, the essence of the universe. Reorder of significance, and all matter absolute. Abstraction soon to follow, an urge to self - seclude. Invention, intervention, tunnel vision, and the particles converge, thus an addiction, for a fiction shall emerge.

In a chaos-breed conviction from a fall, countless compounds unfold. In attitude, multitude, magnitude, one front. The structure of the cosmos as a font. Equal and opposite, action and reaction then become. Perplex the perception, yet notional reality turns norm - drifting linearity, the utmost outcome.

Away from the limelight, projections of the past, extending singularity, converging light fast. Objective or subjective, the tonal shades have met. A dwelling on the boundaries, a vortex still unfed - a distance to be covered, the journey to oneself.

Whispers of Life’

Artist: Niki Rabiee

Presenting the artist Niki Rabiee, a multidisciplinary fine art student based in Nicosia, with a passion for visual storytelling, her words study the themes of culture, identity, and heritage.

Drawing inspiration from her Persian roots, she creates evocative pieces that merge traditional aesthetics into contemporary techniques.

‘Whispers of Life’ is a cultural exhibition showcasing Niki’s latest collection ‘Sunshine’ , a cultural work that invites viewers to explore a harmonious blend of expressive paintings and digital artworks. Each piece reflects her journey through the richness of Persian pattern and the depth of poetic narratives, a vivid intersection between tradition and modernity.

We Forgot How to Forage
Artist: Marisa Satsia
Exhibition: 6 - 10 December 2024,
Perikleous 01, 1010 Nicosia

The (Re)Grounding program is presenting the multidisciplinary research and art work of local bio artist Marisa Satsia for the final presentation of her residency.

During the first half of her residency Marisa had the opportunity to collaborate and co create with Ukrainian biohacker of Yane Lab, Dariia Dantseva. Together they developed a hands-on workshop where participants were encouraged to produce alternative forms of scientific knowledge outside the walls of scientific institutions. They were guided to conduct their own scientific experiments on the contamination caused by copper mining to the bodies of water in Skouriotissa and Lefke by using DIY Biology and open-source tools and methodologies.

As a bio artist, Marisa’s aim is to produce scientific knowledge horizontally, and to decolonise scientific knowledge production. In her approach, she empowers locals, citizens, artists, and bioactivists to generate new understandings and knowledge about the current environmental state of local abandoned mines, as an alternative engagement with colonial industrial history and extractivist legacy in Cyprus, through citizen science research methodologies and DIY Biology practices.

Through her multidisciplinary research and practice approach, the artist combines 3D scanning and photogrammetry, visual microscopic mineral observation and DIY biology techniques and she aims to develop open-source protocols, tools, and resources, collectively, while applying citizen science practices and methodologies.
