WIP Festival WIP (Work in Progress) is an evolving series of activities and exhibitions that focus on the synergies of arts, science and technology.

Organized by CYENS CoE, it's an annual reference point for creative experimentation. WIP (Work in Progress) Festival is an ever-evolving series of activities and exhibitions focused on arts & technology synergies. Organized by CYENS Centre of Excellence together with esteemed collaborators, the festival is breaking new ground in the east Mediterranean, aiming to become an annual reference point for scientists and creatives experimenting at the intersection of Arts, Science and Technology. As stated by its name, WIP festival embraces the notion that both art and research are a Work in Progress. As such, it features a program of workshops, discussions, and presentations that focuses on the creative processes. Effectively, the works on display are considered as in process products open to an active engagement between the observer and the creator and encouraging a dialogue on the impact of technology on our society and contemporary culture. WIP Arts and Technology Festival welcomes you whether you’re an artist ready to showcase your work or a visitor excited about the outcomes of the intersection of art and technology.

WIP Festival and the Cyprus Animation Association (CAA) invite animators to submit their work for the International Animation Day Screening, taking place as part of WIP Festival 2026.

Aligned with this year’s theme, “Flows,” the screening explores the movement of ideas, stories, emotions and visual expressions through the language of animation.

The screening celebrates the diversity of contemporary animation, bringing together works from emerging and established creators across genres, techniques and perspectives.

If you have an animated film you'd like to share with audiences at this year's festival, we invite you to apply.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to apply, we’re truly grateful for the incredible response. We received over 200 applications from more than 30 countries around the world. 🌍
Our curatorial team is now carefully reviewing all submissions. Applicants can expect to hear back by the second week of May.
