Thank you to everyone who joined us for this rich and thoughtful group discussion 🌿

Grateful to Chiara Cartuccia () and Evagoria Dapola () for generously sharing their research and observations after a week of conversations, meetings, and studio visits across Cyprus.

Together we reflected on institutional gaps, cultural memory, and future imaginaries—situating local urgencies within wider Mediterranean contexts. A space for listening, thinking collectively, and imagining what comes next.

The event is part of the programme “Confabulations for Critical Localities”

Join us for a group discussion facilitated by Chiara Cartuccia () and Evagoria Dapola (), who will share their first reflections following a week-long residency involving interviews, meetings, and studio visits with local practitioners. Their collaborative inquiry delves into how institutional failures and structural absences continue to shape cultural memory, future imaginaries, and the artistic landscape of Cyprus. By situating these dynamics within broader conceptions and representations of the Mediterranean, the discussion invites participants to think collectively about the conditions, possibilities, and urgencies that inform artistic and cultural production today.

A heartfelt thank you to Diego Aparicio (.a.aparicio), Loukia Pieridou (.pieridou), and Damien Touche () for their beautiful readings from Leontios Toumpouris’ Still at the book launch event. The intimacy they created and the way they embodied the words felt rare, delicate, and deeply precious. Thank you also to Leontios Toumpouris for bringing the book to life and sharing it with us.

For “The Long Journey of Small Acts”, Haris Pellapaisiotis () transformed half the gallery into a camera obscura that simultaneously operated as a dark room. Within this environment, he produced new images and videos of Horst Weierstall, extending the gesture of friendship that first shaped their 1989 encounter for the performance Momentum IV, the slides of which are on view in the gallery.
