And now... it’s time to share what grew from all the Green Steps encounters. Join our webinar on 15 June at 18:00 to hear the results, reflections, and future dreams of the project! Registration link https://forms.gle/ggfKzGvUuNGD58RQ6 🍀

Over the past months, children, families, artists, educators & environmentalists came together for Green Steps to move, play, imagine, explore hidden ecosystems, and discover how deeply connected we are - just like the underground mycelial network of roots and fungi

From performative discussions to workshops, seminars, and a magical site-specific performance at Athalassa Park, Green Steps invited children aged 5-11 and their families to experience ecology through movement, creativity and dance.

Heart’s Sacred Touch

“There is but one History. And that is the Soul’s search for the knowable and unknowable homeland of the Human Spirit, leading to the Sacred Sites of the soul”

Heart’s Sacred Touch is a quest, a journey to come to terms with death, with at its heart a longing for peace and the healing transformative nature of creativity. The work reflects on how, in spite the chaos surrounding us today, there is still beauty.

The work, though it is a continuation of Arianna’s quest journeys for the Sacred Sites on the island, this time the quest is in search of the Sacred Sites of the Soul: a search for the knowable and unknowable homeland of the human spirit.

In this work Arianna Economou with composer-singer Helen Chadwick (UK) and singers Kristia Michael and Marios Nicolaides, carries on her search into the sacred, turning her gaze to the Byzantine frescoes of the little churches tucked away up in the Mountains of Troodos. Painted on the inside walls of these womb-like churches, the frescos once acted as a membrane that held and touched the communities of these mountain villages, guiding their journey from birth to death and beyond. They reflect the beauty of nature that surrounds them.

The rich pigment used comes from the depths of the earth in the mines nearby. The paintings touch and open our hearts with the movement of the cloth that wraps around bodies in the archetypal stories of the Great Mother and Daughter in cyclical time, birth – death – rebirth, and of the Divine Mother and her Son in the transformational spiral from Earth to Eternity.

A homage to Beauty.

On Sunday 17.5, Androniki Marathaki () with My heart as an antidote: practices of solidarity, becoming a continuous effort of our Bodies to come closer to each other, this performance invites us to the most intuitive, mysterious, and invisible dimensions of dance and of our existence. We close the festival’s programme with the launch of a new Dance House Lefkosia’ tradition, that of Honorary Members; an act of gratitude, recognition, and allyship that celebrates those who have walked alongside us and whose commitment ensures our vision. In this spirit, DHL’s board warmly welcomes as our first Honorary Members Eleni Mavrou (), Anita Michaelides (), and Elena Perikleous.
