Με μεγάλη τιμή, η Συμφωνική Ορχήστρα Κύπρου θα καλωσορίσει τον θρυλικό βιρτουόζο πιανίστα Κυπριανό Κατσαρή Cyprien Katsaris για μια λαμπρή συναυλία η οποία θα κλείσει το πολιτιστικό πρόγραμμα της Κυπριακής Προεδρίας του Συμβουλίου της ΕΕ 2026, υπό τη διεύθυνση του νέου Καλλιτεχνικού Διευθυντή της Ορχήστρας, διεθνώς αναγνωρισμένου αρχιμουσικού, Μύρωνα Μιχαηλίδη Myron Michailidis.

ΛΙΓΑ ΛΟΓΙΑ ΓΙΑ ΤΟΝ ΚΥΠΡΙΑΝΟ ΚΑΤΣΑΡΗ
Ο Κυπριανός Κατσαρής εντάσσεται στους καλύτερους πιανίστες του κόσμου από το έγκριτο γαλλικό μουσικό περιοδικό Diapason.
Το έργο του έχει τιμηθεί με τις διακρίσεις: Καλλιτέχνης της UΝΕSCO για την Ειρήνη, Ιππότης των Γραμμάτων και των Τεχνών, Γαλλία, Μετάλλιο Vermeil της πόλης του Παρισιού, “Commandeur de l’Ordre de Mérite du Grand-Duché de Luxembourg”, Ιππότης Τιμής του Καμερούν, Αριστείο Γραμμάτων, Τεχνών και Επιστημών από τον Πρόεδρο της Κυπρου, κ.α. Το 2023 τιμήθηκε στη Βαϊμάρη με το βραβείο “Honour Prize Franz Liszt” για τη συνολική του προσφορά στο έργο του συνθέτη.
Το πλούσιο δισκογραφικό του έργο εμπλουτίστηκε τα τελευταία χρόνια με ένα άλμπουμ αφιερωμένο στον Beethoven με τίτλο “A Chronological Odyssey”, ένα άλμπουμ με έργα Schubert, δύο άλμπουμ με έργα Γάλλων συνθετών, δύο άλμπουμ για τα 100 χρόνια του Saint-Saens, δύο άλμπουμ με έργα Ελλήνων συνθετών με τη δισκογραφική εταιρεία “Melism”, δύο άλμπουμ με την όπερα Don Giovanni του Mozart σε διασκευή για σόλο πιάνο από τον Georges Bizet, κ.α.

This brilliant and celebratory concert, which marks the closing event of the cultural programme of the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the EU 2026, features the legendary virtuoso pianist Cyprien Katsaris, next to the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra.
The concert is conducted the CySO new Artistic Director, the internationally acclaimed conductor Myron Michailidis.

A FEW WORDS ABOUT CYPRIEN KATSARIS

Cyprien Katsaris, the French-Cypriot pianist and composer, was born in Marseilles. He has recorded extensively for Teldec (Grand Prix du Disque Frédéric Chopin, Warsaw 1985; Grand Prix du Disque Franz Liszt, Budapest 1984 and 1989; British Music Retailers Association’s Award 1986; Record of the Year 1984, Germany, for the 9th Symphony of Beethoven/Liszt), Sony Classical, EMI, Deutsche Grammophon, BMG/RCA, Decca, Pavane, and now on his own label, PIANO 21.
Cyprien Katsaris is “Artist of UNESCO for Peace”, “Commandeur de l’Ordre de Mérite du Grand-Duché de Luxembourg” and “Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters” (France). He also received the “Médaille Vermeil de la Ville de Paris”, the “Nemitsas Prize” (Cyprus), the “150 Great Cypriots” prize, Phileleftheros newspaper, Cyprus and the Cyprus Ministry of Culture “Excellence in Letters, Arts and Sciences Award” by the President of the Republic of Cyprus.
In 2023, Katsaris received the coveted FRANZ LISZT Honourary Prize from the new Franz Liszt Foundation together with the Weimar Classic Foundation.
