📢 Meet the Toyful Music Festival 2025 Artists!

🎵 Natasa Hadjiandreou (percussion)🎵

Natasa Hadjiandreou enjoys a rich artistic career that combines solo and chamber music performances, and a strong interest in education and teaching. Natasa holds a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in percussion performance from the Royal Northern College of Music, where she graduated with honours. She continued her studies at the Accademia Nazionalle di Santa Cecilia (Rome 2012&2014), where she specialized in orchestral playing under the guidance of the Orchestra's principle percussionist.She has also participated in masterclasses with world renowned percussionists and in Music Festivals such as Bang on a Can Summer Festival (USA) and at the International Music Institude Darmstadt - IMD (Germany).
As a soloist she performed performed Emanuel Sejourne's Concerto for Marimba and String Orchestra in 2012 and in 2019 Tan Dun's Water Concerto for water percussion and orchestra, both performed with the CySO.

She is a member of Trio Ostinato, Plekto duet, Patsiaoura Ensemble, Natasa Hadjiandreou-Erika Dohi project, Nabu Pera and she frequently collaborates with Selas Dance Company with whom she performs regularly in Cyprus and abroad.
As a music educator Natasa currently is teaching at the State Music Schools of Cyprus, the Music Academy of the Cyprus Youth Symphony Orchestra and Sistema Cyprus and she has collaborated with the University of Nicosia. She is a co-founder of Cyprus based non-profit organization Curious Qat.

📢 Meet the Toyful Music Festival 2025 Artists!

🎵 Demetris Yiasemides (flute/trombone)🎵

Following his studies in the UK where he specialised in flute performance, Yiasemides worked as a flautist and trombonist with various ensembles including the Anglia Sinfonia, ARU Big Band and the Grand Union Orchestra as well as the UAE Philharmonic Orchestra as an orchestral player. In Abu Dhabi, Yiasemides was employed as a woodwind tutor at the Aldar International Schools of Abu Dhabi, UAE. He is currently a flute tutor at the European University of Cyprus as well as the Music Lyceums, and is also an active performer in the classical, folk and experimental music scenes of Cyprus. Countries in which Yiasemides has given flute masterclasses include Greece, Lebanon and the UAE. He is also a member of the multi-award-winning trio Monsieur Doumani, one of Cyprus’ most internationally successful bands, with which he has performed throughout Europe, Cuba and India, and has highlighted innovative use of wind instruments in Cypriot music.

📢 Meet the Toyful Music Festival 2025 Artists!

🎵 George Georgiou (clarinet)🎵

Hailed for his energetic and inspirational performances, the Cypriot clarinettist George Georgiou enjoys a career as a classical and contemporary clarinettist. He appeared in many solo concerts and recitals in Europe, Middle East and USA. He collaborated with some prominent musicians such as the legendary cellist Rohan de Saram, Prazak Quartet, Apple Hill String Quartet, Chilingirian String Quartet, the violinist Movses Pogossian and he appeared as a soloist with the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra, Sofia Sinfonietta, Commandaria Orchestra and Moscow Virtuosi.

In his research for new repertoire, George started commissioning works for clarinet and so far he collaborated with the most dominant composers from Cyprus. He premiered several works featuring the clarinet with most of them being dedicated to him. He is a member of Georgiou Georgieva DUO, Lyrical Noise Ensemble, Quintus Ensemble, Chronos Contemporary Music Ensemble, Patsiaoura Ensemble and Claritar Duo. He holds the position of clarinet professor at the ARTE Music Academy as well as the Pafos and Nicosia Music Schools.

George is a graduate from City University, London, where he studied clarinet with Julian Farrell and Joy Faral at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He is also a MBA graduate from the Neapolis University Paphos, Cyprus and a member of Mensa Cyprus. His busy profile gained him an international recognition and he became a Selmer Paris Clarinet Artist, a Silverstein Ligature Artist, Marca Reeds Artist, Gleichweit Mundstucke Artist and a Royal Global Accessories Artist. He is also the Cyprus Chair and the Middle East Regional Chair of the International Clarinet Association and a member of the association’s New Music Committee. His first Digital Album with Solo Clarinet Works by Cypriot Composer was released in 2023 and two more albums are expected to be released in 2025.

📢 Meet the Toyful Music Festival 2025 Artists!

🎵 Andreas Theocharous (tuba)🎵

Andreas Theocharous is a Cypriot tuba player from Limassol, Cyprus. He began tuba lessons at the age of 14 with Andreas Giannakouras of the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra and soon distinguished himself as one of the most promising young low-brass performers on the island. He graduated from the Limassol Music High School with the highest marks of his year and served as principal tuba of the Cyprus Youth Symphony Orchestra, performing major works such as the Vaughan Williams Tuba Concerto.

In 2019 Andreas completed his undergraduate studies at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland under Andy Duncan and Anthony Swainson, followed by a postgraduate degree in Music Performance in 2021 with Craig Anderson. During his studies he collaborated with leading institutions including Scottish Opera, the Royal Scottish National Orchestra through its apprentice scheme, the Scottish Ballet on tours across Scotland and England, and the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra.

As a soloist, Andreas has performed with various RCS brass ensembles, the RCS Wind Band, and the Edinburgh Youth Orchestra at the Fringe Festival. In 2021 he appeared as soloist with the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra, performing the Arild Plau Tuba Concerto. In 2020 he won the Governor’s Recital Competition for Brass.

Andreas is a founding member of Spitha Brass and Aura Brass, both award-winning chamber ensembles formed at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. After returning to Cyprus, he founded Aes Cyprium, the island’s first professional brass quintet, and co-founded Krama Brass, an eight-piece group combining jazz, Balkan, and Middle Eastern influences.

He currently teaches tuba at the Public Music Schools of Cyprus and the Cyprus Youth Symphony Orchestra, performs regularly with the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra and TrakArt Pops Orchestra, and conducts the Kourion Municipal Band.

📢 Meet the Toyful Music Festival 2025 Artists!

🎵 Dimitris Savva (composer/sound artist)🎵

Dimitris Savva is an electroacoustic\electronic and soundscape music composer, sound designer, live-electronics performer, researcher, and educator. He holds a Bachelor's degree (distinction) in music composition from the Ionian University, a Master's degree (distinction) in Electroacoustic composition from the University of Manchester and a fully-funded PhD degree from the University of Sheffield.
Dimitris’ compositions have been performed in a total of 86 international music festivals such as In Sonic 2017: Immersive Future [ZKM Center for Art and Media], Cube Fest 2019-Sound in Focus III [Moss Art Centre, Blacksburg], ICMC 2014 [Athens], New York Electroacoustic Festival 2021. Many of my compositions won prizes in prestigious competitions such as Metamorphoses 2012 -2014 -2018, Iannis Xenakis 2018 and SIME 2019. Ten of his works have been published on important collective records (indicatively: Metamorphoses 2012-14-18-20, Anthology of Contemporary Music from Greece and CIME 2020). He has also collaborated with artists and researchers across various mediums, including contemporary dance, performing arts, video art and installations, documentary, and VR projects, to design sound and compose music and soundscapes for their works.

As a live-electronics performer, Dimitris has played in the ensembles like ASABE, Tyto Alba, [DI]AFANEIS HEROES, and has also performed solo acts in concerts including Machines of Mantic Stain, Confusion / Irrational Collectiveness.
As a visiting lecturer, Dimitris has taught the course Electronic/Electroacoustic music and Sound Arts at the Department of Multimedia and Graphic Arts of the Cyprus University of Technology and the course Sound and New Media at the Department of Fine Arts. Additionally, he has served as a teaching assistant for the Music Technology course at the University of Sheffield and the Electroacoustic Music Composition and Live-Electronics courses at Ionian University.
