Leontios Toumpouris’ exhibition A disappearing act, an erroneous camouflaging continues at the gallery until 27 June.

“Over four hundred ceramic pieces compose an ensemble in which each element resembles the next without ever coinciding. Repetition, at the core of the work, stabilizes nothing; it opens a gap. Minute variations propagate, organizing subgroups and constellations. Like dormant bulbs, these forms suggest suspended time, where waiting and synchronization call for an expanded and attentive mode of listening.”

- Excerpt from exhibition text by Ludovic Delalande

Work: On dormancy, 2025/26, glazed ceramics (Terracotta, Stoneware, Earthenware, Earthstone, Red iron oxide, Pink stain and Calcium Bentonite), 460 unique multiples, 20.5 x 12.5 cm approximately each

Exhibition opening hours:
Wednesday - Friday, 4 - 8pm
Saturday, 11am - 2pm
or by appointment at 99 522977

Leontios Toumpouris exhibition ‘A disappearing act, an erroneous camouflaging’ is open today at the gallery until 8pm.

Opening hours during .artfair
14 - 17 May, 12 - 8pm

How to disappear completely and never be found. The promise is vast. Yet, as Doug Richmond suggests, it seems difficult to remove oneself entirely without disappearing, to dissolve without leaving a trace. Every attempt encounters resistance. To conceal oneself, to blend in, to dissolve into the landscape: these gestures presuppose a world capable of absorbing without remainder. And yet nothing truly disappears once it is present in the world. Something always remains: a trace, a displacement, a persistence. What withdraws does not cease to exist, but changes state, somewhere between latency, murmur, and diffuse background.

eins gallery is pleased to present Leontios Toumpouris’ solo exhibition ‘A disappearing act, an erroneous camouflaging’ featuring newly-produced and revisited works.

Opening on Wednesday 13 May, 7.30pm

Rooted in his open-ended archive of photographic documentation and the practice of gathering, Toumpouris produces a body of work in clay and metal that negotiates multiplicity, connection, development and growth. By engaging with ideas of transitions and pause, the exhibition explores bodily and psychological complexities embedded in the urge to hide, the need to retreat, and the will to insist, drawing a parallel to the artist’s recently published book titled Still.
