Η Isnotgallery contemporary και το Almyra hotel,με ιδιαίτερη χαρά παρουσιάζουν την Ομαδική εκθεση TEMPORARY FOREVER / Προσωρινά για Πάντα το Σάββατο 25 Ιουλίου στις 20:30.

Το καλοκαίρι δεν μένει,αλλά επιστρέφει,τακτικά,αξιόπιστα.Κάθε χρόνο έρχεται σαν να είναι η πρώτη φορά,και φεύγει σαν να είναι η τελευταία.

Αυτή η επανάληψη-το καλοκαίρι που γυρίζει πανομοιότυπο και διαφορετικό κάθε φορά-είναι,ίσως η πιο ειλικρινής εικόνα για το ίδιο το έργο τέχνης.Ενα έργο φτιάχνεται μέσα σε μια συγκεκριμένη στιγμή,για συγκεκριμένους λόγους.Κι όμως φιλοδοξεί να τα ξεπεράσει όλα:να μείνει,να θυμάται,να σημαίνει κάτι πέρα από την στιγμή της δημιουργίας του.Το προσωρινό,λοιπόν,δεν είναι το αντίθετο του διαρκούς.Ειναι ο μόνος τρόπος που γνωρίζουμε για να επιβεβαιώσουμε το δεύτερο.

Το 1966,ο Robert Smithson έγραψε για μια νέα γενιά μνημείων που δεν φιλοδοξούσαν στην διάρκεια: «δεν κτίζονται για τους αιώνες,αλλά ενάντια στους αιώνες» (“they are not built for the ages,but rather against the ages”).Δεν επρόκειτο για μνημεία της της αποτυχίας ή της παραίτησης,αλλά μνημεία που συμφιλιώθηκαν με την φθορά τους εκ των προτέρων,που δεν προσποιούνταν αιωνιότητα,και ακριβως γι αυτό κατάφεραν να πουν κάτι αληθινό για τον χρόνο.

Η Isnotgallery παρουσιάζει το καλοκαίρι του 2026 την ομαδική έκθεση Προσωρινά / Temporary forever στο Almyra hotel-μια συνεργασία που μετρά πλέον μια δεκαετία και επιστρέφει,κάθε καλοκαίρι,με την ίδια κανονικότητα που επιστρέφει η ίδια η εποχή.Δέκα καλοκαίρια τέχνης σε έναν χώρο φτιαγμένο για να μη μένεις,αλλά να επιστρέφεις.

Κάθε έργο σε αυτή την έκθεση κουβαλάει την τη δική του εκδοχή αυτής της έντασης.Υπάρχουν έργα φτιαγμένα από υλικά που δεν αντέχουν στον χρόνο,δίπλα σε έργα που επιμένουν στην σταθερότητα του μετάλλου,της πέτρας,της φωτογραφικής αποτύπωσης.Υπαρχουν εικόνες που μοιάζουν να ζητούν να ξεχαστούν,και άλλες που μοιάζουν να αρνούνται πεισματικά να ξεχαστούν.Καμενα από αυτά τα έργα δεν λύνει το ερώτημα.Όλα του δίνουν σχήμα.

Η έκθεση δεν προσπαθεί να κρατήσει τίποτα ζωντανό για πάντα.Προσπαθεί να σταθεί,για λιγο(όσο διαρκεί ένα καλοκαίρι)στο σημείο όπου το εφήμερο και το διαρκές παύουν να είναι αντίθετα.

Τοπία || / in Vitro

Σύμφωνα με το λεξικό.in vitro είναι η διαδικασία που λαμβάνει χώρα σε ένα δοκιμαστικό σωλήνα ή πιάτο καλλιέργειας,σε αντίθεση με in vivo που χρησιμοποιείται για να περιγράψει τις διαδικασίες που λαμβάνουν χώρα σε ζωντανούς οργανισμούς.Ο όρος φύση τυπικά χρησιμοποιείται για να εκφράσει τα φυσικά φαινόμενα τα οποία θα συνεχίσουν να υπάρχουν ανεξαρτήτως της παρουσίας του ανθρώπου πάνω στον πλανήτη.Οταν όμως αναφερόμαστε σε ένα τοπίο,εννοούμε τον τρόπο με τον οποίο το αντιλαμβανόμαστε.Σύμφωνα με τον George Simmel,αναφερόμαστε σε ένα «είδος ενότητας» το οποίο προκύπτει από μια ποικιλία φυσικών φαινομένων απλωμένων στο έδαφος.Τα συνεκτικά στοιχεία τα οποία χρωματίζουν την αντίληψη του θεατή αποτελούν τον «ψυχικό τόνο»του τοπίου.

Η σειρά αυτή αποτελεί μια διερεύνηση του τοπίου ως ένα ήσυχο χώρο,με προσοχή στις ατμοσφαιρικές και χαοτικές ποιότητες και την αλληλοεπίδραση ειδών και φαινομένων τα οποία συνιστούν ένα ενοποιημένο όλο,σε αναφορά με τοπία από την Κύπρο και την Ιαπωνία,μέσα από την ζωγραφική με γραμμές από μελάνι που δημιουργούν τα κατακερματισμένα όρια του πάνω στο κενό του χαρτιού το οποίο δρα σαν αναγκαίος δυναμικός χώρος.

Τα έργα ολοκληρώνονται μόνο όταν σφραγίζονται μέσα σε γυάλινες θήκες κατασκευασμένες με προσαρμογή τεχνικής βιτρώ μικρής κλίμακας η οποία αναπτύχθηκε από τον Louis Comfort Tiffany για την διατήρηση τους.

Maria Kofterou one of our represented artists is a visual artist born in Cyprus in 1986.She studied Painting at the Athens School of Fine arts,and Philosophy at the University of Cyprus.She works mostly with drawing and experiments with glass art,illustration,murals and ceramics.She has participated in exhibitions in Cyprus and abroad,such as Landscapes | / in vitro at Isnotgallery in 2022 and Coexistence at Arts Itoya with the series Nature Drawings in 2025.In the same year,she received an award for the illustration competition of the Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation.She lives and Works in Cyprus.

Isnotgallery contemporary proudly presents Now her second solo exhibition titled landscapes || / in vitro from 27 May till 10 June 2026
According to the dictionary,in vitro is the process taking place in a test tube of culture dish in contrast with in vivo which is used to describe the processes taking place in living organisms.The term nature is humankind on the planet.When we refer to a landscape however,we mean a way of perceiving.According to Georg Simmel,we refer to a “kind of unity”that arises from a variety of natural phenomena spread on the ground.The amalgamation of phenomena that colour the perception of the spectator comprise the landscape’s “phychic tone”

This series is an exploration of the landscape as a quite space,with attention to the atmospheric and chaotic qualities and the interaction of species and phenomena that constitute a unified whole,in reference to landscapes from Cyprus and Japan,through drawing with ink lines that create its fragmented boundaries on the blank paper which acts as a necessary dynamic space.

The works are complete only when sealed in glass cases made with the adjustment of a small-scale vitraux technique developed by Louis Comfort Tiffany,for their preservati.
