So, I think this page is back and we are gonna hit it with a long awaited request.

"Everybody's Got Something to Hide Except Me and My Monkey" by The Beatles from their 1968 album "The Beatles" (also known as "the White Album").

The song was written about Lennon's future wife Yoko Ono, Lennon said of the song:
"That was just a sort of nice line that I made into a song. It was about me and Yoko. Everybody seemed to be paranoid except for us two, who were in the glow of love. Everything is clear and open when you're in love. Everybody was sort of tense around us: you know, 'What is she doing here at the session? Why is she with him?' All this sort of madness is going on around us because we just happened to want to be together all the time".

— John Lennon, All We Are Saying.

The song was written by John Lennon and credited to Lennon McCartney. Its title is the longest of any song released by the group.

Here is a link to -what I believe- the best cover of this song found on Youtube by the band Soundgarden.

"Wonderwall" is a song by the English rock band Oasis, written by the band's guitarist and main songwriter Noel Gallagher. "Wonderwall" describes "an imaginary friend who's gonna come and save you from yourself".

reached the top ten on thirteen charts, including topping charts in New Zealand, Australia, and the United States, as well as number two on the UK Singles Chart. The single was certified platinum by the British Phonographic Industry and certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America.

"Wonderwall" was written for Gallagher's then-girlfriend, Meg Mathews, as Gallagher told NME in 1996: "It's about my girlfriend, Meg Matthews."[6] However, after Gallagher divorced Matthews in 2001, he said the song was not about Matthews: "The meaning of that song was taken away from me by the media who jumped on it, and how do you tell your missus it's not about her once she's read it is? It's a song about an imaginary friend who's gonna come and save you from yourself."

*The ninth and final track on Led Zeppelin Official 1969 debut album "Led Zeppelin"

* It was listed as 3:30 on the album, but the correct length is 8:28. The reason for that was to promote radio play. Jimmy Page knew that radio would never play a song over 8 minutes long, so he wrote the track time as shorter on the album to trick radio stations into playing it.

*This is one of three songs where Jimmy Page played his guitar with a violin bow. The others are "Dazed And Confused" and "In The Light." Jimmy's bowing can be heard in the section after his double-tracked guitar solo ("I was a young man, I couldn't resist...").

"Soldier of Fortune" is a blues rock written by "David Coverdale" and "Ritchie Blackmore" and originally released on Deep Purple's 1974 album Stormbringer.

*It is an acoustic track song sung by Coverdale and it is very melodic and beautifully done. It is very melancholic and the inclusion of the violin in the background further adds to it and is one of the best Deep Purple songs.

*My own interpretation of this song as about someone feeling hopeless and helpless, struggling and gripping. It could be about a guy who is in love with a woman, but she won't respond the way he wants her to? and he has grown tired of waiting for her response.

*definitely an amazing song, and I was really surprised finding that only a few websites discussed this song.

Link to the amazing cover by Opeth, which -in my opinion- better than the original.

"Higher Than Hope" (in memory of Marc Brueland)

From Once album 2004....
Brueland, was a good friend of Nightwish Keyboard player and the songwriter Tuomas Holopainen, who died of cancer.

The first line of the chorus was taken from Lord Of The Rings:"The red sun rises. Blood has been split this night."

The second line of the chorus was a brief but accurate description of what Tuomas heard on the phone as he heard Marc drift off ("Drown without inhaling").
In addition, the other vocals in this song are that of the deceased, Marc Brueland.

A video I made that kind of means alot to me. It's A tribute to Nightwish and the song is "Higher Than Hope" Why did they have to fire Tarja Turunen???? :'( ...

In the Presence of Enemies is one of the four Dream Theater songs that eclipses the 20 minute mark. It's heavy throughout, with a five minute instrumental intro.

The song is subtitled "The Heretic And The Dark Master," and it had a working title of "The Pumpkin King."

It tells the story of a man who sells half of his soul to a "dark master" at the moment of death, in order to gain power to stand in the way of the servants of an evil fallen angel. This man is seeking revenge on the one who killed his beloved, and also seeks redemption for humanity.

This story, and some of the lyrics in the song bear striking resemblance to the story of Ivan Isaacs told in the Korean comic Priest.
so it's a metaphor for the turbulence inside the main character, struggling with his darker side.

"The Trial" is a track from Pink Floyd's 1979 rock opera/concept album "The Wall". Written by Roger Waters and Bob Ezrin, it marks the climax of the album and film.

This is about the character Pink's complete downfall into insanity. The pressure of being who he is caves in on him and he held on trial for his past internally. He finally cracks under the pressure and "The Wall" which he has created falls, hence the album title.

Nobody knows what really happens to him. Did he fade out of reality and lead a life where everybody forgot about what he used to be and just melt away? Did he commit su***de or die in some way? Did a happy ending appear where he gave up his fascist ideas, reconciled with his wife, and continued his music career? Or maybe he found religion and realized the error of his ways? God knows.

The album The Final Cut does provide some allusions to what might have happened to Pink, as well as the song on this one, "Outside the Wall," but there is no definite answer to this question.

Following the style of the 70's progressive bands, "Heritage" the plain progressive rock album by death metal/prog swedish band Opeth. Some fans were disappointed by the "mellowed" sound of the album and the fact that it didn't had any death-growls.

The album artwork is credited to longtime collaborator "Travis Smith".

The tree represents the band flourishing in the present while its roots "going down to hell" represent the band's death metal history. The faces on the tree are those of the current band members, with Wiberg's head falling off the tree representing his departure. The skulls underneath the tree also represent past band members. The burning theatre in the distance represents the decline of civilization.
Also the nine small stars represents the band's previous nine albums, while the big shining star represent "Heritage".

From their fifth studio album "Gutter Ballet", the album where the band shifted their sound and style from a heavy metal to a more progressive sound, which is reflected in songs such as "When the Crowds Are Gone" and "Gutter Ballet".

However it's not a concept album but the final three songs (Mentally Yours, Summer's Rain, Thorazine Shuffle) are a conceptual suite dealing with a single character as revealed by the band in interviews.

Thorazine is an anti-psychotic drug given to mental patients, and the "Thorazine Shuffle" is a common description of how they move when they're on the drug.

"In 'Thorazine Shuffle' Timmy is in an institution and Thorazine is the drug that is given to him to keep him quiet. They're giving him huge dosages and that's why he starts hallucinating. The hallucinations form the major part of the lyrics. And until his dying day Timmy will have to stay in the institution, being the insane person he is thanks to his unhappy childhood." Said Oliva in an interview.

"Thorazine Shuffle" was written by Jon Oliva, Criss Oliva and Paul O'Neill. It is on the 1989 album Gutter Ballet. Thinking about yesterday And how my life u...
