Last year I had new steps built to my upstairs terrace as the existing ones were very uneven and dangerous.
This year I started building mosaic sections for the steps. Each step is different, a mainly sea theme. Upcyling as much as possible (broken china, sea glass) as well as non slip ceramic mosaic tiles.

Built on netting, which will be cemented and grouted onto each step.

What to make with a watermelon 🍉 and this wasn't the biggest! €4.50 from the farm shop.
1. Eat it raw. 2. Peel the green part off and cook the white rind with onion, spices and soy sauce 3. Make sorbet (I used coconut cream) I found that blending frozen watermelon is not easy, despite the viral videos, best blend fresh with whatever cream you choose. It's delicious 😋 and finally....if you have a garden, put the peels under a tree, good compost and food for various insects 🐞🐝

Good morning and a few from this morning's walk, the old Maroni bridge built during the British occupation, hidden below the main road.
Very pretty hike through the ravine, would make a great hiking trail with the bridge as an historical note if it was cleaned up a bit.

Last weekend's mosaic workshops with the saint Barnabas scout's summer camp in happy valley by the gorgeous lemmings beach.
60 mosaics completed, 5 groups, ages from 6 - 18.
Lots of fun, creativity, games, a movie night under the trees, sunrise swims.
No phones or screens, just perfect.
