Notice the difference between 'I am so afraid' and 'I am feeling so much fear right now'
Small differences in language can have such a huge effect on your perspective and subsequently your behaviour
In this case you are either afraid and that is who you are, or you are you but you are currently feeling this emotion of fear.
Immediately you have the space to deal with the fear if you are not identified with it. Approaching it from the perspective of this is an emotional response to the situation makes it much easier to deal with
If you are interested in exploring this topic with like minded individuals, stepping out of your comfort zone and stepping in the ring with your fear, DM me for more information on my workshop this Sunday (more info can be found in my previous post)

I am working on a study to look at different injuries that happen in parkour. The more people that complete the questionnaire (link in bio) the more accurate and meaningful the results! If you could spare 10 minutes or so to complete it and share with friends or on social media, I and the parkour community would very much appreciate it.
Thank you

Finally found a nice spot for double cast back.

This one felt scary as it was my first time doing a double from a cast take off but the ledge was high enough that I knew there was enough time to make it round and not high enough for my fear of falling to significantly deter me

So pumped to have done this! The idea first came into my head after doing the layed out dub back in my last post. After that I visualized it again and again until it felt so smooth and simple in my head that all I had left to do was to actually do it

The internal battle I had with this one was that I would over rotate as this was almost double the height that I am used to doing this skill from. Fortunately this location had gradually ascending jumps from which I was able to work my way up to the top. Finally doing the flip from the top felt like climbing out of a hole of fear and the unknown. I felt so much relief experiencing yet again that I was capable of doing more than what I told myself. Being comfortable to do doubles at this height has opened a lot of doors for me and am already visualising what I will be doing the next opportunity I get to jump from a similar height

Found this one a lot harder to commit to. I was able to do it in the end with energy from .therapy and 🙏
The clap at the beginning allowed me to let go of the thought of doing the shrimp dive and all of the failed attempts that came with it. It put me in the position of having to commit to the move and once I was there and I had no choice other than to do it, everything became easy/simple. Once again I'd like to express a big thanks to Theo and Nikas for spurring me on!

Have been playing with relinquishing control, letting go and having faith in what I can do. Sometimes when you dont listen to yourself and push yourself to do something you arent ready for it can be traumatising, usually only temporarily physically but often more permanently psychologically. This is due to the nature of the body and the mind. A traumatizing experience will create a psychological barrier/obstacle that is more difficult to overcome than simply waiting, being patient and preparing mentally and with appropriate progressions in the first place. Most people, quite understandably, decide to deal with this trauma by not repeating the experience and thereby pushing it away or suppressing it. This may seem like a rational reaction in some cases seeing as repeating it may cause even more trauma. The problem with this however is that its limiting in the sense that more often than not the experience will come around again in some form or another.
I believe it's important to put in the work and make a habit of healing these traumas as they come up as often as possible so they don't slowly add up over time.
It is a process and people make mistakes so it's a good and rewarding feeling knowing you can overcome trauma and alter your perception of an experience gone wrong.
(In other words I'm so stoked with this dive cause I messed them up in the past while learning them)
Thanks for reading ❤
Tip: dont do something unless you are ready and if you are ready then just let it happen and dont talk yourself out of it
