Coco Fusco gives clarifications on the past few months of actions and events - in Cuba, abroad and on social media - that have punctuated what have now become a massive Cuban artists' protest against the Law 349 - a law that aims to filter each and every cultural production on the island, threatening de facto to kill independent production. Initiated by Luis Manuel Otero Alcantara, Yanelys Nuñez Leyva, Amaury Pacheco OmniPoeta, Iris Ruiz and Bruguera Tania joined by many many others. She also gives a glimpse on other negotiations attempted within the institutional system and questions the challenges faced with the up-coming Bienale de la Habana (spring 2019) including the delicate question of foreign participation.

It is not unusual for Cuban artists to grumble about excessive state meddling, but it’s rare for complaints to be aired publicly and collectively

Proud and pleased that La Primavera del amor takes part in the discussion (See article "Miss Bienal Inaugurates La Primavera del Amor: Genesis of a Platform for Research and Intercultural Artistic Production in Cuba, June 2014-June 2015", by Catherine Sicot (Elegoa Cultural Productions).
