to 50 minutes), experimental and hybrid works and their authors, set in the foothills of the picturesque Rudnik mountain in central Serbia
A special focus of the festival lies on the many diverse aspects, interpretations and possibilities of space and spatiality in the filmic context - be it films that treat landscape, topography and space in general as a major narrative element, create an engaging interplay between the characters and their surroundings, challenge the limitations of the film frame or in any other way delve into this vast field of cinematic expression. Furthermore, we welcome films and filmmakers that are willing to make bold and unorthodox choices, explore atypical narrative structures, seek out and highlight marginalized or untold stories and their protagonists, search for new methods of communicating with the audiences, all the while retaining a distinguishably personal and uncompromising tone and approach. Building upon and expanding the decade-long tradition of film events and festivals being held in the Rudnik area, we have envisioned for OPEN SPACES to go beyond the regular scope of a film festival and become a special kind of gathering point - one where all particpants and guests can share a close and dynamic connection, a hospitable and productive environment, but are also able to use their time in Rudnik as a retreat and immerse themselves in the mesmerizing and tranquilizing atmosphere of the mountain.
18 selected films will be featured in a single, unified programme, competing for the main award of the festival - Zapis Award for the Best Film, along with a number of Special Mentions awarded by the jury.

OTVORENI PREDELI - FESTIVAL INOVATIVNOG FILMA RUDNIK (OPEN SPACES - RUDNIK FESTIVAL OF INNOVATIVE CINEMA) je novoosnovani međunarodni filmski festival na obroncima planine Rudnik, posvećen prikazivanju i promovisanju hrabrih i nekonvencionalnih kratkih i srednjemetražnih (do 50 minuta) dokumentarnih, eksperimentalnih i hibridnih filmskih formi, kao i njihovih autorki i autora. Poseban fokus festivala leži na različitim aspektima, interpretacijama i mogućnostima bavljenja konceptima prostora i prostornosti u okviru filmske umetnosti - bilo da se radi o filmovima koji tretiraju pejzaže, topografiju i prostor u širem smislu kao centralni narativni element, prave veštu interakciju između likova i njihovog okruženja, preispituju ograničenja filmskog kadra ili na bilo koji drugi način zalaze u ovo ogromno polje filmskog izražavanja. Isto tako, festival je otvoren za filmove i stvaraoce koji su spremni da donose smele i nekonvencionalne kreativne odluke, prigrle atipične narativne strukture, otkrivaju i ističu marginalizovane ili neispričane priče i njihove protagoniste, tragaju za novim metodama komunikacije sa gledaocima, a zadržavajući, pritom, prepoznatljivo ličan i beskompromisan ton i autorski pristup. Nastavljajući i razvijajući desetogodišnju tradiciju održavanja filmskih događaja i festivala u rudničkom kraju, OTVORENI PREDELI su zamišljeni kao događaj koji prevazilazi standardne okvire filmskog festivala i postaje jedno specijalno mesto okupljanja - mesto na kome svi učesnici i gosti mogu da se osećaju kao deo jednog bliskog, dinamičnog i produktivnog okruženja, ali i da pronađu svoj odmor i utočište na Rudniku, uronivši u opčinjavajuću i umirujuću atmosferu planine.
18 odabranih filmova će se takmičiti u okviru jednog, objedinjenog takmičarskog programa i nadmetaće se za glavnu nagradu festivala - Zapis nagradu za najbolji film, uz nekoliko posebnih pohvala žirija.
