"Memory of the Future" , oil on canvas, 60 x 60 cm

Somewhere in the vastness of the universe, beyond time and space, drifts an immortal tree that weeps. Its tears carry billions of lives , lived and yet to be lived, filling a bottomless well, guarded by a one-eyed dragon. With its ever-watchful eye that never sleeps, it silently observes past, present, and future events, a keeper of knowledge. Always by its side are three female beings of fate: the Judges, the Norns, the Moirai…

Can we alter our future if all realities coexist at once, within the same well? Our past is not fixed in experience. It is continually reconstructed from the present and the future. The event itself does not change, only its meaning, its emotional weight, and its place within our identity. Memories are not an archive, they are living reconstructions.

Every time we remember, we inscribe it anew, from the vantage of our current state of consciousness. As Saint Augustine observed in the fourth century:

The past exists only as memory in the present;
The future exists only as expectation in the present;
Reality exists only in the now.

Yet this “now” is not a mere point in time, it is a field of consciousness.

Perhaps the answer is that we can change only our state of being, and in doing so, all three realms of reality, the past, the present, and the future, shift simultaneously. 🪷
