Peter John Murphy (born 11 July 1957, near Northampton, England, raised in Wellingborough, England), is the vocalist of the rock group Bauhaus who later went on to release a number of solo albums, such as Deep and Love Hysteria. The followup, Love Hysteria, did much better. It also marked the beginning of a long-term collaboration with songwriter Paul Statham, who co-wrote songs with Murphy until 1995. The resulting singles "All Night Long" and "Indigo Eyes" helped garner a wider following, and the black-and-white video for "All Night Long" entered rotation on MTV.

The Merry Thoughts

"If you are to copy a band, either do it right or simply don't; well these guys did it to perfection. The Merry Thoughts the ultimate the Sisters of Mercy clones, and one of the few bands out there that can truly be mistaken for the Sisters of Mercy. From the lead singer's voice who skillfully captures the Eldritch tonality, to the guitars, bass and drums, all carbon copies….well they even have the equivalent of Doktor Avalanche and they called their Drummachine: the Thoughtmachine!
… the quality of the songs is as good as the Sisters of Mercy songs…
Both of The Merry Thoughts' full length albums, Millenium Done I: Empire Songs and Psychocult are highly recommended. I can't think of a single flaw on either."

ELUSIVE marked 2001 with their outstanding debut, Destination Zero, an album that impressed fans and the music press alike from the very beginning. Contrary to what the album title suggested, mastermind Tommy Olsson and charismatic frontman Jan K. Barkved had a very definite idea of where they wanted to go; their sights were set on the rock zenith. Positive reviews all around, destination Zero was celebrated as "the best debut album since '86", and oustanding shows in their Norewegian homeland and at assorted festivals (M'era Luna 2002, Geel 2003 – Headliner, The Invitation 2004 – Co- Headliner) established ELUSIVE, strengthened by the addition of guitarist Kristian Gundersen to the line-up, as a force to be reckoned with on the international rock scene. Expectations were high with the release of the 2005 follow-up, The Great Silence, and it picked up seamlessly where the debut left off, taking the band one step higher.

In 2007, Destination Zero marks the next milestone in ELUSIVE's history – as the first track of their third album Locked Doors, Drinks And Funerals – Songs From The Desert. "It was meant to be the opening track of the same album, but it would have destroyed the balance" explains Olsson, the creative force behind the songwriting, mixing and production of the album. Developed and recorded between November and January in the band's Black Riders Studios, with the final mastering done by Inge Engelsvold at Dreamlab Studios, the songs on Locked Doors, Drinks And Funerals weren't created specifically for the album at the outset. "Some of the songs were written while we recorded, and others I've been writing on for years," Tommy reveals. "We've got a closet full of tapes and CDs, which are demos or more like sketches we record whenever we get inspired, but we never finish a song before the song gives us a sense or purpose to finish it. There's no timeline for good songs in the ELUSIVE universe so it doesn't matter if the idea was done last week or if it's 15 years old – as long as it's good."

There is a timelessness that defines ELUSIVE's individualism. The band works outside and independent of fashion and musical trends, concentrating instead on the essence of their art; an unlimited passion for writing songs.

Not only does ELUSIVE bridge the gap between tradition and modern edge, between fresh arrangements and polished melodies with ease, they remind people that there's more to Gothic Rock than contrived bombast and depression for the sake of image. ELUSIVE is about powerful guitar rock with a unique melancholic twist. Each track on Locked Doors, Drinks And Funerals has its own fascinating aura. So Destination Zero transports the legant and also frightening coolness of the modern industrial age while Into Your Arms seems to indulge in the endless warmth of the prarie "there wasn't a specific vision this time as opposed to our two previous albums. We just started recording and didn't think about where it was going," says Olsson. "Some of the songs point back to The Great Silence, others point to Destination Zero. And some of them are possibly pointing towards our next album, who knows? It's an evolving thing. But it still sounds distinctively ELUSIVE."

With Locked Doors, Drinks And Funerals, ELUSIVE in 2007 are focusing on their strengths: sophisticated lyrics backed by captivating melodies, heavy riffs and atmospheric keyboards, a path that has put them even higher on the peak of rock's Olympus.

Funhouse was formed in the Swedish coastal town, Kalmar, in 1986,by four punk rockers with long hair. After releasing a self financed single "Tormentor" and gigs all over Sweden, they felt a move was needed to get attention to their music. The choice fell on Malmö,just across the water to Copenhagen and close to the continent.
This was in 1988. Soon they were signed to Accelerating Blue Fish, a local independent record label, who released the single "Sunset", but the planned album was never released as the band was approached by the new M&A Music Art label, whose dark wave profile was on par with the band's own style. The "Friends" EP and "Girls" album were released 1993, in addition to a number of contributions to samplers, before a change in the line-up brought a new dimension to the classic epic pop sound of Funhouse. With the release of the magnificent epos of love, trust and betrayal album "Never Again" in 1996 Funhouse became one of the leading bands in the genre of dark rock in Europe. After endless trips across Europe in an o**y of cherry wine, gin, gigs, interviews etc. to promote the album and their music they call "goth n roll" they decided to go into the studio to record a follow-up to the "Never Again" album. The idea was to release the new album with the working title "Oceans of Tears" in 1998 but something went wrong. The price of the long "goth n roll" lifestyle finally turned the studio session into a nightmare. A long break turned out to be the only cure to avoid a split. After a small change in the line-up and another studio session the fans finally got a sign and the new cd "Second Coming "was released.

"Second Coming" was released autumn 1998, a limited edition EP. all covered in a digi-pack with golden print. New label contract was signed with the German label Appollyon and a new album called "Forever True" was announced to be release in the year 2000. However, this wasn't the album everybody was waiting for, the album "Forever True" was released 2000 but turned out to be a best of compilation re-mastered but with no previously unreleased tracks. Rumors about Funhouse split up was circling in the air but suddenly you could read about a new album to be released. "Oceans of Tears" was released 2001 and this was the first step to enter the American goth underground scene, the response was fantastic -IF GOD WAS A ROCK STAR HE WOULD BE FUNHOUSE!!! but still no new songs since the cd turned out to be another best of cd, pretty similar the earlier released "Forever True" but this time meant for the US market only.

2002 on the Funhouse web site you could read about some new line-up changes, endless studio sessions endless promises about a new album… September 28 2002 Funhouse appeared on a small dark wave gothic festival called "Herbstnächte Festival" in Germany. Bearing in mind that the last time Funhouse played live was in May 2001 at a club in London, there were a lot of tension in the air and the place was crowded with people. The opening song was titled "I Care for You" and when the band came to the chorus you knew that this would be a great show, the crowd immediately started to sing along and the same thing was happen to rest of the songs. After the last encore when the fans and even the promoter was begging for more, we all understood that Funhouse was back, probably even more powerful than ever before, the new songs went straight to the heart of the fans and four weeks later the band played for the first time in years in their hometown.

The new album "Flames of Love" proves that the band is still the masters of writing dark uptempo love songs with powerful chorus even though the new sound is much darker, with more guitars and keyboard than the previous releases.
