Sharon Estacio Sharon Estacio presented “Amerkána” at SULUJ, an interactive performance where she invited the audience to join her in peaceful acts of revolution through word games. The piece offered visitors a space for conversation, contemplation, and collective creation. The overall light and fun evolution of the happening generated a constellation of terms, phrases and discourses on walls, tables and other artifacts. At the end of the evening, Estacio concluded the piece by resetting the empty space and painting its walls back to white, highlighting the transitory nature of memory and communal knowledge, as well as the fragility of what a community can lose: undocumented narratives, erased perspectives, forgotten vocabularies.

IMPORT/EXPORT Belgrade was a unique, kaleidoscopic event happening across Belgrade, co-created by the joint force of the IMPORT/EXPORT core group of artists (Aleksander Zain Aleksander Zain, Tiina Lehtimäki , Sharon Estacio Sharon Estacio, Enrico l’Abbate Rilaben performance intuition, Darius Bogdanowicz Da Rius, Maria Novella Tattanelli ), U10 Art Collective U10 (Sanda Kalebić Санда, Jana Jovašević Jana Jovasevic, Maša Obradović Maša ⌫) and the team of curators heading the creation of the IMPORT/EXPORT handbook (Jovana Trifuljesko , Bojana Jovanović Bojana Jovanović , Maja Petrović maja , Dunja Belić , Ana Simona Zelenović zelenovicas).

At Flower Square in the city center of Belgrade, Darius Bogdanowicz performed  “WHITE SHEET (Street Poetry on Passive Body)”, in collaboration with . Standing still in the busy square, the artist offered his body as a surface for pause and expression, holding markers for passers-by to write their emotions, desires and dreams. Remaining silent and without reaction, Bogdanowicz allowed the public to shape the work entirely through their gestures and words. Over time, his body became a living page, a cadavre exquis. A collective poem assembled through spontaneous encounters in Belgrade’s charged urban space.

“There and Back” by Tiina Lehtimäki unfolded as a travelling performance
along the central Kralja Milana street, starting from Flower Square, turning at
and finishing back at Flower Square. The artist moved a found sofa, inviting passersby to
share its weight, sit, rest, chat, or simply be.
In its own way, the sofa willed the piece.
Conversations remained unscripted, and the journey unfolded at its own pace, open to
detours and the rhythms of the participants who, (un)surprisingly, were very eager to help.

In “Autonomous Agent”, presented at , Alma Gačanin oscillated between the archetypal personas of the Service Worker and the Remembering Self, positioning the audience as “clients” within a corporate-sterile environment. Her choreography of voice and calculated silences explored current hot topics, bringing a state of tension in the audience between conformity and interiority. Participants were gradually drawn into mirroring gestures and imperative dialogue, exposing how capitalist systems train bodies to perform compliance even as personal narratives unravel inside. With this ambiguity, the artist explored the mechanized emotional labor of client-care and exposed the vulnerability of a woman tracing her metamorphosis from childhood to societal womanhood.

Belgrade, thank you ❤️

A month has passed since the 2025 edition of IMPORT/EXPORT, and we are still holding the faces, bodies, gestures and encounters that filled those days. This trailer by .cam is an absolute tribute to you.

Returning to Serbia -where this project was first imagined- carried a special resonance for us. In such an intense moment for the country, the warmth and openness we received from artists, collaborators and audiences reminded us why we do this work: to build spaces of exchange, care and collective imagination across borders.

Belgrade marked the third year of our nomadic journey — three years of learning, failing, rebuilding and growing together.

And this chapter continues. For now, no more events are on the horizon, but a book:

"The IMPORT/EXPORT Handbook: A Guide Through Performance Art Documentation, Curation and Space", by the curatorial team selected by U10: Jovana Trifuljesko , Bojana Jovanović , Maja Petrović , Ana Simona Zelenović and Dunja Belić . Reflections, tools and traces from Livorno, Berlin and Belgrade, mapping what remains after performance: gestures, relationships across time, and the desire to keep moving together.
Where to next?
Time will tell.

For now: thank you, Belgrade.
And stay tuned — more is coming.
💙 Love, care, action, performance art

It’s a wrap!

On Saturday we closed this unique event called IMPORT/EXPORT Belgrade with strong, loud, playful performances. Dragana Žarevac faced an unmovable wall, raising a cry of resistance in solidarity with the student protests in Serbia. Darius Bogdanowicz’s videos travelled across the border between Turkey and Greece, while Aleksander Zain’s moved between the east and west of Italy in a profound, rhythmical reflection. Alma Gačanin guided us through a provocative choreography of service and selfhood, and Sharon Estacio invited us into the participatory Amerkána, an evolving and fragile community built through games of legal and illegal words.

It all ended, as it always does, with a wall painted white again, ready to start anew.

That’s how we closed IMPORT/EXPORT Belgrade, and that’s how we move on to our next steps in this nomadic journey.

More about that very soon. Stay tuned.
