Dandelion! The next stamp I am working on. 💛
A little about my carving process: I usually begin by cutting the outline with a super fine exacto blade. That gives me a clean outline to start with and it is much easier to control than the other tools. Then I carve out the inner details and textures with a fine speedball carving tool, which is almost like sketching but in reverse (removing the negative space). And lastly, I remove the background space with a wider blade. After I test the print, I'll keep removing more of the background until I get a really clean print every time.
Leaving some of the background imperfections can give more of an artsy, rough look, which I also appreciate, but I tend to remove all of mine.
I'm looking forward to growing my collection of wild medicinal plants stamps and playing with them!
