So how short is short for a song? Maybe 2:30?
Everything I said in this post is just my own interpretation.
I have to start with La Dispute obviously. I love finding meanings between the lines. This song makes me think about anger attacks. The shameful moment when you don’t remember what you did, and then having to find the pieces.
I chuckled when I checked the CURSI NO MUERE EP “De canciones tristes”, because all the songs are short. The whole thing is like 7 minutes, and I love it. I almost put it all in here, but I had to pick “Te Extraño Por Siempre” just because it describes a place I’ve been to and I’m terrified of being in again.
Old Gray’s “Clip Your Own Wings” is equally hopeless and hopeful. Beautiful songwriting. Good thing I pay attention to lyrics.
“Such Small Hands” by La Dispute is such a beautiful way to talk to a lover. Like all his songwriting, just poetry.
“Interlude” by My Chemical Romance is the way I like to pray. I’m obsessed with that one, and also with “Romance” from their first album. I NEED everyone to notice those songs. MCRmy
And Death Spells, other project by serial killer (musician) frnkiero , featuring The Whole World apparently (this specific time James Dewees) Very industrial but also classical, hard to explain. It is attached to this post.
