I have so much I want to share about the incredible Indie Craft Parade this past weekend so I’ll try to keep it relatively short. From being a juror for this year’s event, to vending alongside some of the most talented artisans from around the country, I’m honored to have been given this opportunity. I’ve heard for years that this event was IT, and now I understand why. The talent is top tier and the experience is like no other for artists and shoppers alike. Aside from that, I know I’m not the only one to hit record sales this weekend and for that I know we’re all immensely grateful.
First and foremost I need to thank my mama. She was by my side the entire weekend, held it down, lifted every heavy box, waited on me hand and foot, and tended to my neuroses when my display would get messy. I hope to be back next year doing all the heavy lifting while she sits back and relaxes with feet up. She’s the real MVP 🫶🏼
Secondly, I want to express my deepest gratitude to the staff, volunteers and fellow artists. Due to a recent injury I’m currently non-weight bearing and ICP’s staff jumped in at every opportunity to help push me around in my wheelchair, load-in, load out and assisted my mom whenever needed because I physically couldn’t. Volunteers offered time and again to help at the booth and allowed us to take breaks as needed. My fellow artists were more than accommodating and helpful throughout the weekend, and I’m inclined to reiterate, some of the most talented people I’ve ever met.
It’s also vital I sing the praises of Erin, Lib and Jen, the founders of ICP. They are nothing short of amazing and the embodiment of joy. I was taken care of by them and their staff all weekend without hesitation. Not only that, in my eight and a half years of Lina Rosa, this event was like nothing I’ve ever experienced before. It was a fever dream. This is what I always expected from other events but after years of mediocre events it’s safe to say no one does it like ICP. Thank you and to the city of Greenville.
