Recently, our Co-Founder and Director of LATAM & Mexico, Rafael Vega Valtierra, spoke at the 50th anniversary of Latin America’s premier tourism event — Tianguis Turístico México in Acapulco, Guerrero.

We are grateful to Secretaría de Turismo de México (SECTUR) for the invitation and for recognizing the strategic importance of the Chinese market in this milestone edition. Rafael delivered the keynote “Chinese Tourism and its Strategic Role in the Future of Mexico” where a critical reality was highlighted: Chinese tourism has evolved from an emerging trend into a high-value opportunity that Mexico is still not fully capturing. With 224,271 Chinese visitors arriving by air in 2025– making Mexico the leading destination in Latin America– the potential is clear. Yet many destinations still face important gaps in cultural adaptation, digital visibility, and service readiness for this sophisticated traveler.

As Rafael pointed out: “Chinese tourism is not a future trend. It is a present reality that Mexico has not yet fully taken advantage of.”

This participation underscores Shake to Win’s mission to bridge Latin American destinations with Chinese travelers through innovative digital solutions and deep market intelligence.

This milestone reflects the remarkable strength and depth of China-Uruguay relations, which continue to expand across trade, culture, and innovation.

Key 2025 insights that demonstrate the growing partnership:
✅ China remained Uruguay’s #1 export destination with US$3.49 billion in purchases — representing 26% of Uruguay’s total goods exports and a 12% increase from 2024
✅ Bilateral trade continues to thrive, driven by strong demand for Uruguayan beef, soybeans, and cellulose, while China supplies key technology, machinery, and manufactured goods

On April 11, STW Innovation (Shake to Win) participated in the Suzhou OPC Community Day with its “赏” Roadshow (pronounced “shang” – meaning appreciation and reward).

The event, themed “AI Fulfills Dreams”, brought together government agencies, researchers, investors, and entrepreneurs focused on One-Person Company innovation. Shake to Win presented its digital cultural tourism platform, core products, and ecosystem strategy.

Key points shared included:
- Access to over 4,000 global cultural destinations and local experiences
- The “Travel from Home” virtual campaign
- The extension of cultural experiences, the VG39 Digital Collectibles series certified by the Van Gogh Sites Foundation
