🌿 Growing Through The Jungle 🌿

My Grade 4 students are currently working on Jungle Book Kids, and what a beautiful challenge it has been.

It hasn’t been easy… but that’s exactly where the magic happens ✨
Watching them grow, step by step, as they combine acting, music, and dance into one performance is truly inspiring.

This kind of artistic experience is so important—
it’s where creativity comes alive,
where teamwork becomes real,
where adrenaline pushes them forward,
and where discipline takes shape.

Moments like these remind me why Performing Arts matter so much ❤️

There are simple things that make me truly happy… like teaching my Grade 1 students how to combine songs with body movements 🎶🕺

Watching them connect their voices with their bodies, express themselves, and enjoy the moment is something really special.

But the real magic happens when motivation meets reflection 💭
The level of enjoyment grows even more when you encourage them and guide them to think:
✨ How am I doing?
✨ How can I improve?

Because teaching is not just about performing…
It’s about helping them discover their confidence and their voice ❤️

Mis pequeñines

As a performing arts teacher, there are many special moments that stay with you—standing ovations, breakthrough performances, the quiet confidence that grows in a once-shy student. But there’s one simple phrase that never fails to make my heart swell with pride:“Teacher, I practiced the song.”

Yesterday, someone asked me: “What does life mean to you?”I paused, then replied: “To be grateful.”Grateful for the simple things — having a job, a home, the ability to breathe, to see, to feel. But today, I’m especially grateful for something more:The kind messages of encouragement I receive about my work with students.Grateful to witness their growth.Grateful to feel the trust and acceptance from their parents. It’s in these moments that life feels truly full.

“They’re 17 and don’t speak English. Do you think you can do it alone?”
I confess that in my 17 years of experience (I started very young in education at 18 as an art instructor), it was the first time I felt fear linked to helplessness and at the same time that feeling of: “I’m going to do it myself.” Sounds strange, right?
But like everything that comes from art, it’s made with love. 🧡 My first-grade children already understand me and can sing simple songs in English and follow my instructions.
Their hands are still so small they can barely hold the ukulele properly, but with its C chord, they are already able to follow the minimum pressure on the fret corresponding to the chord and coordinate the strumming motion—while also singing.
It’s very nice to see them grow and develop. Of course, their progress in the language is due to their mentor teachers, which is the main foundation, but the artistic musical language has played a fundamental role. , ,

“Hey teachers — especially my fellow performing arts and music teachers out there!

Ever find yourself being the only one in the classroom, juggling vocalists, instrumentalists, choreography, staging, and trying to keep it all in tune and on beat?

Yeah — it’s a lot. But here’s the secret sauce: it’s also a powerful training ground.

P.S: This is general performing arts 🎭 class at International School not a music school .
