Plan C. / Netherlands / 2012 / Max Porcelijn

Ronald Plasmeyer (Ruben Van Der Meer) is a small-time Amsterdam detective, struggling with financial problems because of his gambling habit. When the Chinese crime boss Hao threatens Ronald's ex-wife and son to get his money back, Ronald comes up with a plan that will solve all his problems. Ronald enlists two petty criminals (Ton Kas and René Van 't Hof) to rob an illegal poker tournament he's taking part in, providing him with a perfect alibi. Quick, simple and non-violent; the plan is foolproof... until people start getting killed. Soon, Ronald's partners take off with the money, leaving him empty handed. To make matters worse Ronald's colleagues in the police force begin to suspect him of the robbery, setting the stage for a nerve-racking game of cat and mouse. Ronald is all-in... holding the worst hand of his life. More info: http://www.plancdefilm.nl/

Little Otik / 2000 / Czech Republic / Jan Svankmajer

Little Otik (Czech:Otesánek), also known as "Greedy Guts", is a Czech film by Jan Švankmajer and Eva Švankmajerová. Based on the folktale "Otesánek" by K.J. Erben, the film is a comedic live action, stop motion-animated feature film set mainly in an apartment building in the Czech Republic.
When a childless couple learn that they cannot have children, it causes great distress. To ease his wife's pain, the man finds a stump in the backyard and chops it and varnishes it into the shape of a child. However the woman takes the root as her baby and starts to pretend that it is real. When the root takes life they seem to have gained a child; but its appetite is much greater than that of a normal child…

Approved for Adoption / Belgium / 2012 / Laurent Boileau, Jung Henin

A cartoonist; 42 years old according to his civil status, Jung prefers to place his birth at the age of 5, when a policeman found him wandering alone in the streets of Seoul. He is one of those 200 000 adopted Koreans spread around the world. Jung decided to return for the first time to South Korea, in order to tread the land of his ancestors, and maybe find traces of his biological mother. This trip of reconciliation with his roots and with himself leads our character to recall – in animation – the child he once was and the winding path that made him grow up. The characters were developed and created in 3D, the landscapes and decorations are in 2D and the drawings are all originally made by Jung. The film deals with adoption issues with tenderness and humor. More info: www.couleurdepeaumiel-lefilm.com
