Applications for the 2018-19 M Literary Residency are now open: https://mliteraryresidency.submittable.com/submit!

Application intake will close on January 1, 2018 and the winners will be announced at the 2018 Shanghai International Literary Festival on March 15, 2018 (festival dates are March 15 - 28, 2018).

The M Residency allows writers with an interest in China to deepen their understand of this vital and fascinating place. The intent of the Residency is to provide space and time for writing and location-specific research.

The Capital Literary Festival in Beijing has been suspended until further notice, but don't fret! The 2017 Shanghai International Literary Festival dates have been set and will take place March 10-22, 2016.

We are toiling away in the summer heat in preparation for the 2017 Shanghai International Literary Festival. Dates have been set, plans have been made and we hope that you will join us once again!

We're thrilled to announce that our 2013 M Literary Resident, Madeleine Thien, made it onto the Man Booker Prize Shortlist! Her entry, 'Do Not Say We Have Nothing' was written during her stay in Shanghai and was published this year.

The M Literary Residency will re-open for the 2017-2018 cycle on October 3rd and will close on January 2nd, 2017. For more information, please visit our website: http://www.m-restaurantgroup.com/mbund/Ms_residency.html.
