A portrait I made for Hon. Ngala Gerard in 2024 changed everything even tho I waited for a year before I finally met him.

But first let me tell you how it all started. My journey in “String Arts” began in 2018, driven by a desire to share meaningful art with people, to create works that inspire and tell stories that last.
Over the years, with patience , practice, and belief, i continued to refine my craft and fast forward to February 2024, I created a black-and-white string art portrait of Hon. Ngala Gerard after seeing his inspiring works in Nkambe and support for great initiatives.
I spent over 7 weeks creating this and after patiently waiting for a year (Feb 2024- Feb 2025). During this time I kept reaching out and trying to get to him and I finally got the opportunity to present the masterpiece to him in February 2025 at his residence in Douala.
What I anticipated as a simple presentation became a defining turning point in my personal life and artistic journey.
Hon. Ngala Gerard didn’t just receive the piece, he spoke deeply into my journey, offering clear advice, advanced ideas, generous support, and a challenge to grow.
He encouraged me to aim higher, to elevate my craft, and his generous support gave me both courage and direction. I took his words and promised myself that this seed he planted would bear visible fruit. Since then, I have committed more to growth, discipline, creativity with greater depth and professionalism and everything changed.
Yesterday, I had the honor of presenting a new unique multicoloured string art portrait. Before I did just black and white but now I do Multicoloured designs born out of the standards he inspired. His reaction, happiness and genuine amazement was deeply satisfying to see.
It took me 9 weeks, 4 days and 3 hours to create this multicoloured masterpiece on (115cmx 115cm) wooden board using 392 nails and 7824 thread lines. One of the biggest string arts I've ever created.
