Opening...

Ville cruelle opens with an immersive installation inspired
by the micro-spaces of Douala — kiosks, cabins, informal trading sites and survival structures.
These ordinary places concentrate stories, tensions and everyday gestures that shape both the city and the people who inhabit it.

CRUEL CITY – micro-places
I am pleased to invite you to discover CRUEL CITY, an exhibition inspired by Mongo Beti’s novel, exploring the city through its micro-places, margins, movements and often overlooked memories.

Through paintings and an installation, this project offers a sensitive reading of Douala as a space of survival, transformation and shared narratives — a city that can be harsh, yet deeply alive.
