WE FEEL CHEATED — BUT WHO SHOULD WE BLAME?
As schools reopen across parts of Cameroon, serious questions are being raised about the situation in Ngie Subdivision.
If schools in some other parts of the South West Region have opened their doors to pupils and students, while learners in Ngie are still waiting, who is responsible for the delay?
In this report, attention is turning to the Divisional Officer for Ngie, the Lord Mayor of Andek Council, and their respective teams. But before pointing fingers, we must ask: What exactly is within their authority, and what is beyond it?
Are they responsible for the delayed resumption?
Did they receive clear directives, and were those directives implemented?
What measures were taken to prepare schools in Ngie?
And most importantly, were parents and the public adequately informed about the reasons for the situation?
But there is another question that concerns all of us:
WHERE IS YOUR OWN POSITION IN THIS FIGHT?
Are we simply complaining after the fact, or are we demanding answers from the authorities responsible?
Should parents remain silent?
Should teachers and school administrators speak out?
What role should traditional authorities, community leaders, elected officials and the population play?
This is not simply about blaming individuals. It is about accountability.
Our children have a right to education, and the people of Ngie have a right to know what is happening.
So, who should take the blame—and what is your own position in this fight?
