PRESS RELEASE
In Memoriam: Arrey Tek Enokenwa aka G4 (1984 - 2026)
Buea, Cameroon - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Arrey Tek Enokenwa, popularly known as G4, on the 16th of March, 2026, in Buea.
G4, a renowned Gospel rapper, was born in Yaounde and later travelled to the USA where he studied Accounting and Business Management at the University of Maryland. He got carried away by life, but it all came to an end because of his prayerful and loving mother.
He returned to the country after his dad passed, and there he was, closely monitored and mentored by his mother. Arrey was already a street rapper then, but later decided through the Holy Spirit and encouragement from his mother to do Gospel rap. His first song “Born Again”, was edited by his mom, who also bought him his first and most precious Bible.
G4 later opened a record label (Eagles Wings production) which also stands as one of the most reputable gospel labels in the country, bringing to light talents like
- Asheck Blessings
- Dsaint Livinston
- Paul MOG
- Arah
- Clara Lyte
- Karen Twist.
He also founded the Cameroom Gospel hip-hop association together with the Ultimate Christian battle rap challenge, bringing young rappers together to showcase their skills.
He also organized a rap cypher for female Gospel rappers, all these from his pocket with no sponsors. G4 organized the Tower of Light musical concert, the biggest ever concert to be organized by a gospel rapper in Cameroon.
He had released 1 album (Born Again) and numerous singles, with the most popular being,
- ALL I SEE IS JESUS ft TB1 of Nigeria
- WHY ft Asheck
- Pray ft Ewertsun
- King's Priest
- Zion ft Lesline
- No Limit ft Newzy Mukulah
- Born Again.
At the time of his death, he was preparing for his second album which was supposed to contain 12-15 songs.
Mr. Arrey worked with IHS for close to 10 years before leaving there to take another challenge in a field in which he was more versed. He started working at the Biaka group of companies in October where he served as Marketing and communication manager. Mr. Arrey Tek was exceptional in his professional career; he was awarded employee of the year by IHS more than once, and in just 6 months of working with the Biaka group, he had received a promotion and an increase in salary which unfortunately he didn't get to enjoy.
Like his late dad, Arrey was a very diehard Manchester United fan and was also the IHS company coach. His love for football was so contagious, as this was one of the things that gave him joy.
Mr. Arrey aka G4 was the most awarded Gospel rapper in the country; he mentored many young rappers.
He lived his life preaching and evangelizing, though he was heavily criticized for the tattoos he had, G4 was a model to many and a main player in the 237 gospel music industry.
His demise is a big blow to the label and the entire nation, but a celebration in heaven for he fought a good fight and kept his faith till the last breath.
His arts and music will keep on talking to us, we will continue from when he has stopped.
G4(GOD GIVES GRACE AND GREATNESS) lives forever.
