She presented the documents, emails, and records that detailed the extensive corruption and misconduct. As the evidence was projected onto a large screen, the crowd reacted with shock, anger, and disbelief. Murmurs of outrage filled the room.
Peter, still recovering from his ordeal, took the microphone. "I was part of this," he confessed. "But I am here to make things right. We cannot allow this corruption to continue."
Grace's father also stepped forward, his face filled with remorse. "I too was complicit," he admitted. "But I stand with Ruth and her allies in seeking justice."
The crowd's reaction was mixed. Some were visibly moved and supportive, while others, loyal to Mami Pastor, shouted accusations and insults. The tension in the room was palpable.
Mami Pastor, sensing her control slipping, stood up and addressed the crowd. "These are lies and fabrications!" she exclaimed. "They seek to destroy our church and our community. Do not be swayed by their deceit."
Ruth responded with calm determination. "We are not here to destroy," she said. "We are here to rebuild, to restore integrity and trust. The truth must come out, no matter how painful."
The meeting continued late into the night, with heated debates and passionate speeches. By the end, it was clear that the community was beginning to see the truth. The tide was turning, but the battle was far from over.
