Hausa/Fulani People of Kamerun

Hausa/Fulani People of Kamerun This page is a Media Voice of the indigenous Hausa & Fulani People of Cameroon's NW/SW regions and more.

This page was created to showcase, talk about and represent the minority Hausa & Fulani people of the Southern Cameroon(UN trust territory called "British Southern Cameroons"). The Hausa-Fulani people of this region of Cameroon - who are English-speaking by regional demarcation, have been poorly represented and recognized all over the Country, with some people even assuming that they(the English-

speaking Hausa-Fulani) are strangers/foreigners from either Nigeria or the Grand North region of Cameroon. This assertion is a lie, and a deliberate manipulation of Historical facts by enemies of the Hausa/Fulani people, to serve their domination political agenda. The Hausa-Fulani People of Southern Cameroons are aboriginal to this region since time immemorial. The main reason why they seem to be a minority, is because part of their Brothers whom used to be part of the UN trust territory(British Northern Cameroon) joined Nigeria through a plebiscite in 1958-59. That made the Hausa-Fulani from the British Southern Cameroons seem now like a minority and since the northern part has been lost to Nigeria, people assumed that all other Hausa-Fulani are of the Northern part - which is wrong. The English-speaking Hausa-Fulani people of Cameroon originated from these lands known today as Southwest & Northwest regions of Cameroon! They, just as all other ethnic compartments settled in these lands since the days of Population Movement(Migration) in the 19th century.

Amba terr0rists have massacred our people - mostly Women and Children in Ntumbaw breaking today.

Innocent people who have committed no crimes, nor hurt anyone have had their lives mercilessly ended by cruel terr0rists under the watch of elites and government institutions in charge of the defence and security of Cameroonians.

May Allah forgive them, and accept their martyrdom. Ameen

Are you waiting for them to entirely ethnically cleanse us before you take action? Or Must we pickup arms to defend ourselves before you open your eyes? 🤔😏

It's been 10-years today, our people are being slaughtered by the same terr0rists and very little have been done to stop these terrorists nor to assure the sustainable security of our people. Why is it different when it's us? One law for us and another for others?

RIP 🕯️

village . At around 5AM today 14 Jan 2026, Ambazonia terrorist attacked civilians and murdered at least 12 Mbororos people at Gidado. They murdered children as young as 5 years old. Dozens others have been injured.
Meanwhile the military and security around these areas have done VERY LITTLE to help secure these communities from these attacks.

This Alert goes directly to The D.O of Ndu, (Mr Ibrahim), The SDO of Donga, THE MP and Senator for this constituency, The Governor of North West Region, Mr. Lele L'Afrique, The Gendarmerie, General Bouba (Commander of the 5th Military region in Bamenda). It is very clear that these predictable and yet recurrent attacks against the Mbororo Communities in Ndu is either Gross Failures of Cameroon institutions, or Gross Negligence.

*These Mbororo communities NEED URGENT HELP.*

as a whole has failed these Mbororo communities who have been targeted and murdered systematically for over 8 years with no end in sight, because authorities just ignore their pain and suffering. What are we doing to help these people from being wiped out? What will be the response from the Cameroon Government?

This is Heart Breaking. We are watching and waiting. Someone, PLEASE HELP! Do your jobs.. Provide security for these communities.. GO AFTER THE AMBA TERRORISRS AND WIPE THEM OUT. Please. Do something. For the love of humanity. DO SOMETHING.

Dear Mbororo / Fulani youths, sell those cattle and ar*m yourselves. Stop waiting on the government to come defend us. DEFEND YOURSELVES. No one masters the forests and hills of the Northwest better than us. We know every nook and cranny, every amba hideout from the hills of sabga to the plains of mambila. Find those bast@rds and give them a dose of their own medicine. This has got to end.

Two of the terr0rists who att@cked the Mosque in Sabga have been successfully sent to the land of no return. Alhamdoulillah.

Each and every one of them, together with their sponsors will be sent over. Just a matter of time!

We continue to warn those supporting this amba terr0rists to fear God and cease from their evil actions immediately, failure of which will be met by serious repercussions.

We have observed with dismay and absolute disgust, certain individuals attempting to justify the actions of those responsible for the heinous attack on the Muslim community of Sabga yesterday. Notably, Abdul Karim Ali, a self-proclaimed scholar and known supporter of extremist ideologies, currently incarcerated in Yaounde, has written extensively in defense of the perpetrators. Despite substantial evidence and eyewitness accounts, he remains resolute in his support for the perpetrators, rather than extending condolences to the victims. Those responsible for these crimes, their sponsors, and supporters should be aware that there will be consequences for their actions. No individual or group holds a monopoly on violence. Continuing to defend these actions may lead to repercussions. A prudent warning is sufficient. ゚

The m@ssacre today at Sabga Kedjom Ketinguh by amba terr0rists is a reminder to us all and our community that we must come together and put all honest efforts to fight against terr0rism, vi0lence and most importantly Injustice wherever we are. The crisis in our home regions has been going on for 09 years today and up to this age, there is no end in sight, neither are there any concrete plans put in place by the government to bring a definite end to it.

May be, just may be, it is time for us to take collective series of actions to fast track the return of that beautiful peace and integrity we once enjoyed in the Northwest.

Innaa lilLahi wa inna ilaiHi Raaji'oun
Reports today indicate that amba terr0r!sts attacked the Muslim community of Sabga Kedjom Ketinguh today while they were attending the Friday congregational prayers. There have been a lot of casualties and several other Muslim faithfuls are hospitalised in the Bamenda regional hospital under critical conditions.

We pray for the recovery of the injured people and may the souls of those unalived Rest in Peace 🕊️. Ameen.

We are reiterating our call once more to the authorities concerned to bring the much needed justice to the people of Sabga, Ndu, Mbawrong , Wum, etc where our people and innocent peoples have been losing their lives for the past nine (09) years. The silence is sickening, and the lack of action & indifference risks pushing the already frailed region into communal vi0l3nce and reprisals.

The Hausa & Fulani in English-Speaking Cameroon: A Historical Snapshot

From bustling trade routes to pastoral lands, the Hausa and Fulani peoples have long shaped the cultural and economic landscape of Anglophone Cameroon.

Hausa traders arrived in the Grassfields by the late 19th century, establishing small settlements and trading networks that connected local communities to the wider Sahel and West Africa, even though Hausa traders had toured nearly all of west Africa before colonization. Meanwhile, Fulani pastoralists, including the semi-nomadic Mbororo, moved across grazing lands, contributing to the region’s dynamic agricultural and social life.

Understanding these dynamics reminds us that Cameroon’s social tapestry is woven from centuries of migration, trade, and adaptation, highlighting both coexistence and the complexities of shared space.
