It is always good to push ourselves towards our goals. But in the process, not to be so harsh on yourself; we should treat and talk to ourselves with love and kindness. I also believe that we should learn to forgive ourselves for our mistakes; in the end mistakes are what help us grow the most. We are less than perfect; We are human.

El Ecosistema Mediterráneo 🌳

“Cubren sólo el 2,2% de la superficie de tierra del planeta, pero cuentan con alrededor del 20% de especies de plantas existentes

El ecosistema mediterráneo, ubicado en la costa central chilena, constituye un ecosistema de gran riqueza y potencial por su extraordinaria biodiversidad. Los hábitats mediterráneos son extremadamente especiales y se encuentran sólo en cinco áreas alrededor del planeta: Chile, California, la cuenca mediterránea, África del Sur y Australia.

Se prevee que los ecosistemas mediterráneos podrían ser especialmente afectados por el cambio climático, pero menos del 5% están protegidos globalmente.

En Chile el ecosistema mediterráneo ha sido identificado como prioridad para la conservación de la biodiversidad, pero sólo un 1% está protegido, comparado con el 20% del bosque templado lluvioso. El bosque costero de Zapallar es el tipo específico de hábitat mediterráneo menos común y más importante para la biodiversidad; por esto se ha identificado como “hotspot” de la biodiversidad.”

Isla Cachagua 🏝

“La unidad Isla Cachagua está ubicada en la Región de Valparaíso y pertenece a la provincia de Petorca, comuna de Zapallar. Fue creada el día 27 junio 1989. Previamente, en 1979, fue declarado Santuario de la Naturaleza.

Es un islote de 4,5 hectáreas de superficie que se encuentra ubicado frente al balneario de Cachagua. Está separado de la costa por un brazo de mar de unos 100 metros de ancho. Su máxima altura es de unos 30 msnm.

Es uno de los cinco lugares más importantes de nidificación del pingüino de Humboldt, abarca al 5 % de su población en el país y el 3 % de la población mundial. En Chile, su estado de conservación es vulnereable.

La limitada intervención humana y buenas condiciones ambientales colaboran para que una importante diversidad de especies ocupe el área como lugar de reproducción, descanso y alimentación. Entre ellas figuran también los chungungos, pelícanos, gaviotas y yecos. En cambio, su vegetación es reducida, siendo la de mayor importancia las especies del género Echinopsis (quisco) y Neoporteria subgibbosa (quisquito), catalogadas como vulnerables”

I have to say that I’ve been very fortunate of having the opportunity to travel to many places , seen and experience many things.
•
Always in the search of place to call home, my own paradise; the search felt never ending.
•
Due to the different circumstances I landed back to where I came from and started to appreciate it more and more. I remember hearing or reading this somewhere:
•
“A place where someone still thinks of you, that’s a place you can call home”
•
I’m right where I want to be or life decided me to be. I feel at peace right where I am. Funny how sometimes you come back to the place where you very first started. But who knows where I’ll be tomorrow? But for now....
all is good here in my little paradise;
all is good
here at Home .

More than often I trap myself in the motion of searching for a grand landscape.
•
I turns out that there is so much beauty hidden so close to our reach. A tighter composition and concentrating in the small details makes me realize that beauty is even in the small things.
•
If only we learned how to appreciate the small things, then maybe we wouldn’t be constantly looking for the “grand-landscape”, adventure,promotion, vacation...
•
I think you know where I’m going with this....

Mar Bravo

Over 9 years ago this place changed everything for me.

•
A place where everything went wrong yet out of pure luck, or so call destiny I was spared from death
•
Bittersweetness is what I feel every time I come here.
•
I went through hell you could say. But from then on. I started to see life very differently.
•
This place gave me chance to reborn and give myself a whole new set of priorities; to follow my own path and to really live for what matters to me.
