If you want to know about one of the world’s most extraordinary and talented artists, Artemisia Gentileschi, then you’re in for a treat ✨ VR experience (Hi)Story of a Painting: The Light in the Shadow, narrated by Cerys Matthews, will be exhibited at the historic from 23rd July to 31st August.

That’s a wrap on Chile 2022! What an amazing festival. We met some incredible people during the week, so much love for everyone, and couldn’t have asked for a better reception and introduction to Latin America, thank you! We were blown away by the reception “(Hi)Story of a Painting: The Light in the Shadow” has had and can’t thank Mediamorfosis enough for organising our Spanish version with 🙌
We can’t wait to share this piece with more people across Europe, Latin America, Asia and hopefully more! Stay tuned for more news… As always, congrats and thank you to the whole team for coming together on this piece ❤️

About last night… : The Light in the Shadow won the Special Jury Recognition for Immersive Storytelling award in the SXSW XR competition!! Congratulations and thank you to the whole team who came together to make this beautiful and important project, thank you to our amazing and supportive funders Creative XR and as well as and and congratulations to all the XR projects in and out of competition - what a line up this year!

BIG NEWS! Our second episode, (Hi)Story of a Painting: The Light in the Shadow, is in competition in the XR Category at SXSW 2022!

Narrated by the one and only Cerys Matthews , this episode explores the extraordinary story of one of today’s most celebrated Baroque artists: Artemisia Gentileschi. We follow her journey as she navigates a world where women have virtually no rights, and becomes one of Europe’s most celebrated and in-demand painters of her time.

Artemisia painted herself into posterity within her own lifetime – this story is about how she rose up against the odds and continues to capture our imaginations today.

The series wouldn’t have been possible without Creative XR, a Digital Catapult and Arts Council England joint initiative, who funded the first two instalments. The series has also received support from StoryFutures Academy, with Innovate UK coming in on the second episode.
